If I want to go to a bar in my hometown I have to wear nice leather shoes. Does the same apply in Bangkok or can I just wear Nike's?
If I don't need to take leather shoes that means one less thing in my bag. I am leaving in 3 days so early replies would be appreciated.
Sorry if this has been posted before, I couldn't find it using search.

Naughtius Maximus doesn't even own a pair of shoes or Nike's to my knowledge.....it's bare toes all the way from what I've seen.
He seems to be welcome in every bar.

I believe it is up to the quality and rules of the particular bar or lounge that you are entering.
A beer bar, you could go bare foot if you wanted. Probably the same goes for Go-Go bars.
If you are going into a Soi 33 bar or the likes, you better have at least a decent pair of sandals on. Some palces wont let you in if you are wearing shorts and a tank top.
Use your best judgement. If you are walking into a sh*t hole, don't worry. If you arew walking into a nice formal entertainment place, dress as you would if the same place was in your home country.

If you have stinky feet make sure you wear something air tight, there's will be plenty of Pongers in town without you adding to em.

Also, if you keep in mind that there are things you might accidentally step in and in bars, the fact that your toes might get stepped on, it should make your shoe choice a little easier. imho

sure,
jeans are not considered as decent clothing in most upscale places on this planet. even less so are sandals.
cm2 has a pretty strict policy on this and I am glad they do so!
