Greetings fellow butterflying brothers,
I have not had the pleasure of experiencing either Pattaya or Phuket, and so am contemplating on which would be the better choice.
Many thankful heinekens for recommendations anyone can provide

What do you want, quality or quantity?
I have only stayed in Phuket once & Pattaya many times so my observations my be a bit biased.
Pattaya, is the biggest and cheaper play ground, though the quality is lacking but not void, there is so much to choose from you will find something to your liking at the right price, all hotels with very few exceptions allow joiners (actually it is expected) free of charge.
Phuket, the action is really limited to Patong Beach, for the rest of the Island any action is hidden away.
IMHO the quality is better but the price is higher.
Regrettably my only stay on Phuket was at a top class hotel on the other side of island to Patong and the only way there was by the hotels shuttle bus, so joiners was out of the question.
No doubt that other bothers will pop up to give you there humble opinions.
Anyway have a good time whichever you choose.

I agree with Basil- if its non stop in-your-face action then its pattaya. If you want a more laid back tropical setting then its phuket.
Phuket is a little more expensive but I prefer it. You can find beautifull tgs anywhere in LOs but the holiday is important too. During th eday I head to the beach, do some sightseeing and eat great food and during the night you are bound to find what you want on patong beach!
IMHO- Phuket and then have your action in BKK on your way out.

I've been to both places and I like Pattaya. Prices are way cheaper and I like that Pattaya is 2 hours from the airport. Pattaya is easier to get around with less hassle from the bhat bus drivers.

Thanks much for all the input guys, I think Pattaya is good to go this time around & Phuket next time.
In terms of quality vs quantity, I would most of the time select quality. With the sheer quantity that Pattaya has to offer, I'm sure that quality would not be hard to seek out.
Thinking of booking the Penthouse Hotel based on the FRs I've read, but find it strange that they only accept reservations by fax {-_-}

My advice would be to do both. Based on a weeks vacation,
Start with 2hr Taxi from airport to Pattaya (3days).
Flight from Pattaya to Phuket (2 days)
Flight from Phuket back to Bkk (2days)
Pattaya is great for cheap sex and partying all night but can get boring during the day as there is not much else to do (GO-Kart racing is great though).
Phuket for a bit of fun but mainly relaxing and re-charging the batteries.
Bkk for sight-seeing, shopping, and fun on your way out.

bestmate is a good guy, but I type of think its alittle unfair to say pattaya aint got much to do by day. Heres an example that I did in a day... Wake up/ breakfast. on a fast boat with superbaby to coral island (200 horsepower).......2000 baht return.....There I walk around to south corner and f_ck her in the water, beautiful torqoris colour. Then snorkel, have seafood at resturant and chang return back 3 hours later. I then go home and change and take in a flick, and go to markets...and later ten pin bowling.....watch the sun set on the shore. Next day hire jet skis, day after ride aloaft in a parashute behind boat, next day fishing, there is also blow job bars, great massage joints, seafood lunches, and TQ a go go day time, and the posting of field reports, gyms and stealing the thai honeys, and beer bar babes (well ok maybe wait til later) I think pattaya is great!..ps hope to catch up again bestmate
