I have seen little or no discussion about Brothels in the forum. Why is that? I know there are other places to meet TG. What's the story here?

Brothels in Thailand are by nature pretty low class and not the sort of places you want to frequent. Often they can be very difficult to find and the sort of local men that frequent such low end places are the sorts who do not take so kindly to 'farangs' treading on their turf.....
Farangs have enough of a play area in Bangkok, best stick to it.

I might call Eden a Brothel. Also the soi six establishments with ST rooms in Pattaya.
Not really sure what you thing of as brothels.
As far as no talk about places to meet TG's... sure you are reading the same board as I am?

I agree that MPs and places like Eden are brothels in all but name - admittedly upmarket variants. Routine establishments are aimed at the lower end of the local market, and best not explored without a reliable local minder.
My own (very limited) experience of local-oriented Asian brothels has been pretty depressing. I'd say just about all the P4P alternatives available to farang in LOS offer much more enjoyable experiences.

Depressing indeed.
Why on earth would somebodt waht to go to a low end Thai brothel full of bonded labour and poor lasses often sold into modern day slavery.
The BG scene is filled with girls who have at least made a choice for whatever reason nto join it. Often it is poverty, but not always, some girls see this as a glamourous lifestyle, when else do they get taken to decent restaurants etc as done so by some 'farangs'.
I have only ever been into what can be called a brothel twice, one trip to Annies and one to Barons. I didn't like either particularly. I doubt I'll go in one again. I rarely have ever taken a BG on the first time I have met them, I at least want to get to know someone I stick my dick into even if I do like to turn left when they turn right outside of the hotel.
My routine has always been to explore new girls during the first half of an evening, and then go and get one I 'know' for the second, or even meet them after hours if they are available.
On the other hand as most guys who've met me...I spend most of my time trying to find the perfect Heineken, and girls come secondary.

Couldn't agree more - I just loathe any system where you're expected to pick a girl cold.
Unfortunately, I've found when kicking around with Thai guys upcountry, that they don't seem to have a clue what you're talking about. "Hey, she's young, she's beautiful, what's your problem?" You can explain that you don't think the sex will be any good, but this just gets blank looks.

I wouldn't think that the girls at Annies or Barons are in the same situation as a girl in a non-MP "f*ckshop" though.
But don't make the mistake of thinking that all of the BG and dancers you meet have made an informed career choice either. A good percentage of them were offered jobs as hostesses or waitresses and never made aware that they'd be screwing for a living.
The most common trick is to offer a girl an innocuous sounding job like "hostess" and give a substantial cash advance to her or more commonly her parents. Then once in Bangkok, she's given housing and a food allowance, which when deducted from her salary along with mysterious penalties, leaves her essentially broke and unable to pay off the advance until she gets used to selling pussy.
By the time she's screwed enough to dig out from the initial debt, she's thoroughly on the game. If she's thinking about quitting at that point, she's usually told that everyone back home knows what she is doing and that she'll be an embarrassment to her family and/or threatened with another round of penalties and debts for her "training" and/or threats are made to her or her family.
No gun held to her head and not chained to a bed -- that sh*t happens, too -- but definitely coercion at work.
That doesn't even begin to address the vast number of girls who are simply browbeaten into prostitution. Don't underestimate the powerful sense of obligation these Buddhist girls are inculcated to have toward their parents. Overpowering gratitude for their very existence...
And when the eldest daughter turns 18 [or 16 or 14...] maybe mom and dad get a powerful hankering for the little luxuries that they just don't feel like working toward for themselves. Thai parents' hypochondria, alcoholism, gambling, bad debts, greed, laziness and general stupidity put more girls on the game than any other single factor.
