Broken Leg

Quote: from hypershade on 10:27 am on April 6, 2005 The Thai places, now that is another story. 2 weeks go, I was sitting in a cab on Ratchada in front of Hollywood at about 3am. All of a sudden 4 Thai guys with baseball bats come running from behind in the traffic jam and start hammering away on the car in front of us. And I mean smashing it to bits! They tried to drag the passengers out, but they put up a pretty good fight with their feet through the windows. By the time the light turned green, the car was a wreck with none of its windows left and quite a bit of blood everywhere. It didn’t take longer then 3 minutes, but these guys (who couldn’t have been older then 21) were total maniacs. No hesitation, no mercy.
At least they waited untill the lights turned green before driving away. Who said the Thais are bad drivers?

Because I can. Seriously... a) I could not get close enough the Head Butt him! b) He was younger and probably stronger than me! So why give him a chance to win? c) I don't give a f*** about the queensbury rules! d) It seemed like the right thing to do! OK. Happy now... TC

oh RTB, Have you ever tried fighting with a full pool cue, it's too long which makes it very difficult and slow to manover and so it not a very effective weapon especially in confines of a bar, however if it is broken. Anyway breaking a pool cue over your knee is no mean feat it sounds like you are a lot stronger than you suggest TC.

You are bang on the broken leg. No room to manouver. That's why I like the head butt, if its executed correctly, it's all over in a flash. I'm too old to dance around in a bar brawl for more than a few minutes anyway... Plus IF he took the pool cue off me, at least would have the other end to stab him in the f***ing eye. Sort of even things up a bit, TC

I have not witnessed any brawls in Thailand; perhaps the short duration of my trip significantly reduced the chances, but in all honesty, Bangkok seemed far safer to me than the Farang cesspool that is my hometown. Most of the fellow farangs that I have encountered seemed pretty laid-back; I felt even safer walking among the Thais (I haven't frequented Thai venues of entertainment though). There was one group of people that I saw that I wish I rather didn't - a few lads that looked like soccer hooligans from Eastern Europe at Annie's. The ubiquitous Farang drunks who walk around Sukhumvit in the wee hours with a glazed look in their eyes wearing sweat-stained rags are also not a pleasant sight. That being said, if you have a tad of common sense and do your best to avoid confrontation, you will do just fine in Thailand. If you're looking for trouble, you will find it anywhere, even at the monastery. Cheers, Golden Star

I was in Hua Hin (of all places!) and playing pool with my GF (who wasn't dressed like a hooker!) and these drunken Falang yobs at the bar were commentin' on how big my TGFs tits were (very big for a wee girl actually). I was gettin' quite nervous (I'm 62Kg after lunch) and by no means qualified to fight one person let alone 4 drunks, what to do? The drunks were getting more vocal by the minute and I said to my GF. "Lets leave sweetheart" but the look on her face was sorta like, "You wont stand up for me?". Oh no, now my GF is pushing me to defend her honour, sheesh what to do? I wanted out of there fast so I was potting the balls like a goodun playing the best pool ever and trying to get my GF to stop talking to the drunks because she had already started to have a go at them and she was getting more annoyed with me wanting to walk (read: run) away. I was shitting myself now with a healthy dose of cowardice flowing through my veins, "fight or flee" oh that's a hard decision to make, right! Grabbing my GF's arm I pulled her towards the door and then I walked back to the drunks who were catcalling me and I said, "You've lost all respect for women" and walked out very slowly. To this day, don't know what possesed me to say that but I did, I was still very scared but I'd faced up to them, how come! Everything went dead quiet and I grabbed my GF and jumped onto our moped and off to the hotel. I explained to my GF what I'd said and as I was rummaging through the Thai/English dictonary for the correct way to translate my parting shot at the drunks, she jumped on me and gave me a helluva sex session! I couldn't believe the passion of the woman. I was certainly up for it as the adrenalin was still flowing through me but I never realised how sexually exciting it is to have the "fight or flee feeling" Cheers

I guess you embelished the translation. ...... because.... frankly, saying "You've lost all respect for women" does not sound very macho. Though I agree that the best was to avoid confrontation and just leave.

Brocher, It is my strong conviction that if a girl truly cares for you, she should be the last one to push you into a fight. In fact, she is the one who is supposed to drag you out of there! I must say that I am not exactly Steven Seagal myself over here, and I would likely just leave as well.
