I have a very good lawyer friend, Thai, who recently told me that the Nana Plaza strip is going to be closed at the end of this year.
The new owners of the land have rewarded the Indian leasehold family very well in way of compensation for lost earnings and turning a blind eye to the imminent early closure.
The legal side of it has a lot to do with the Zoning and seems the tenants will have no legs to stand on.

Confirmed: Since my last post on this I have been asking around. A few girls I was talking to are about to move jobs as alot of the bars in the local area are going to lose there posistions as the bars are going to close soon.
Do not how many though it seems to be effecting as far down as Bus stop but not going in the Annies direction. Will be asking about inside NANA its self when I get the chance.

Has no one paid attention why Boss Hogg has sold/is selling all of his bars in the Nana area complex - despite his own statements how well they are all doing?
Seems a case of 'follow the money', and I'd wager he had a good amount of advance warning from his relationships with the leaseholders...

Thanks for those links.
I used to go to them 2 bars he owns when I first came to BKK. This guy you would see a mile away even though he is 1 ft tall. He is a real charactor. Well I wish him the best, getting out while the going is good.
I suggest if you want to start a bar here to have a long talk with him. I was thinking about opening my own at one point and he told me some real interesting stuff about it. If he is going, I would get in there real quick if you have questions.

This is all good info. Just curious...If NEP is closing down, why are the rainbow bars busy renovating? Cetainly they would be aware of the closure.

This was my initial take on the story, but then if you owned a bar in Nana wouldn't you want to sell? Maybe the Rainbow owners got taken for fools. It can happen to anyone given the right circumstances.
