If you like animals, birds and I am not talking about the gogo bars, try this one.
Safari Park, about 1 hour by tour bus from Sukhumvit.
Go to a travel agent type shop or the one in your hotel and book it, 1000B. It is a full day and they feed you lunch. The little bus from your hotel, will take you through paddocks of different animals, water buffs, lions, tigers, giraffes, rhinos, antelope and many other animals from Asia and Africa.
HIGHLIGHT................. I went there in Nov 04 and still dream of it. The HIGHLIGHT for me was being able to hold, feed, cuddle and play with baby tigers (cubs), some were 6 weeks old and one was about 3 months old. It will cost 60B to do this and they will take your photograph so take your camera. I played with the cubs for about 1 hour all up and was in my element. Never ever thought I would live to do that, just blew me away. I had just come back from Chiang Mai and saw Panda Bears there, so I was still coming down from that. Also at Safari Park are Polar Bears and if you are lucky enough you can touch them nose to nose if you wish, but there is a thick piece of glass between you.
After that I said to a couple of friends, 'If I die tomorrow, I would be a happy man'.. As you can see I love the animal kingdom and the zoo at Chiang Mai and Safari Park at Bangkok did it for me.

Yeah Safari World. Myrth do the croc farm as Yurune suggested. I went there in Feb this year and they have the monkeys, chimps, hippos up close, but not as big as Safari World.
HIGHLIGHT...........................
I was a little bit dissapointed with this place, but still you get up close to them. The highlight for me at this place was being able to sit down and pat a fully grown Thai tiger (he was on a chain lead with the trainer). He weighed about 200kg and 4 yrs old, what a magnificient creature. I wanted to take him home, but the thing that stopped me was that he ate too much and would have been very expensive to run, hehhheeee.
They take your photograph with him for 200B, I am no hero type person, but I felt perfectly safe and relaxed with him, why would anyone want to harm animals.
Most agents have brochures and can arrange transport to croc farm. But I was with TGF and went by taxi from Suk, took 1 hr and taxi stayed outside for us and took us back to MBK. I told taxi driver to turn off meter at park for return journey and gave him 500B for 5 hrs work and he was very happy.

The croc park at Samut Prakarn,, is that the one that also has a Elephant show including old fashion type war games followed by the Elephants palying soccer ( surprisingly good, maybe we could get them to play for Australia?). And that was same place I have picture with the FULL sized tiger, AHHH I checked that chain VERY closely.
Its so easy to not rem,ember names of suburbs there in LOS, but I travelled there from OM NOI and it was only 15-20 minutes.
