Yogibear: I agree that Pattaya downtown might be the kiss of death for your future trips. Laem Chabang is far removed from Pattaya, is quiet and scenic, not too expensive (about $45.00 as I recall) and might help reinforce your future arguments about golf trips. I would not take her to Peppermint on Walking Street as she might think you have ulterior motives for your frequent golf trips.
Has your schedule firmed up yet for the July trip? I am tentatively looking at a 25 June departure from Saudi and perhaps three weeks in Pattaya. Let me know on the golf thread in the Pattaya section.

All have confirmed my thoughts on Pattaya. I am also giving serious thought to expatchuck's idea on Laem Chabang for the reasons he mentioned.
James: Why do you say that the Sol Twin Tower is expensive? It seems to offer good value at $43/night and the Leisure Delight package looks even better.

Landmark is a great hotel but it is guest friendly and the pub downstairs would definately get you banned by your wife.
While I have never stayed at the Imperial Queens Park, it is big and full of Japanese coach parties. The big plus is that it has a fantastic and reputable spa where you could send your wife for a half day treatment in the late afternoon, giving you plenty of time to yourself.
You can also take her to Emporium so she never gets to go near Soi 4, 7 etc. Not cheap but what price your future freedom?

hello all
Heres a suggestion that might not be very populer amoung us P4P players but it is 100% gareenteed to not get you in trouble with your Wife. Bang the liveing shit out of her every morning before you get up and every night before you go to bed. While in Thailand stay with her every minute of every day your there. Get has far away from the P4P areas as you can and play golf, go shopping , relax by the pool at the hotal with her.
Then after she is conviced that Thailand is harmless. That MIGHT MIGHT MIGHT buy you a solo trip to the LOS in the future.
Then you can play all you want in the P4P areas. Of course you might want to get a few golf receipts and a hotal receipt from the hotal you stayed at with her the last time Just to cover your tracks. And of course buy lots of gifts for her while you there.

No James. That option is viable, but perhaps not to its extreme. I may still be able to squeeze in a single escape visit to Eden.

You know...you COULD also tell your ---- that you are meeting an "associate," in Bangkok and dare I say it, someone here could cover for you by calling you at your hotel, etc.
Just a thought...maybe reinforce that blatant lie 
Then you could really justify an overnight golf trip (You know; 6AM tee time, etc.)...or maybe you thought of this one already.
