CDNguy, it is actually a good idea to spend a lot of time, as much as you can hunting on the net, the site you mentioned and bkkchat, line up as many girls as possible to meet, any that come up with stories you find hard to believe, probably are and they are p4p or ex p4p. 2 friends of mine have met heaps of girls like this and you could set it up like an interview process, get photos sent to you first, weed out the ugly ones and go for the cute ones. Combine that with as much as you can meet here on the ground in the 'good' places and see what eventuates.
For your info, you gotta be prepared to go the long haul if you want what you see back home and that is the nice Thai gal to take care and be with you forever. I met my missus when I came here for a 1 week holiday, I stayed for 4 months to get to know her and we are still together for the 7th year now.
In fact, we will expect to be kept in the loop here.

wow thats cool! I would love to meet the one over there. not going just to do that but it would be nice. I read about someone on here that fell in love with a p4p and the jealousy killed the realationship, so I know not p4p girls for love. im not going just to find her, thats just a dream, p4p here I come, and if more happens thats cool!

Must speak some Thai, dress nice, know some of the culture. Also helps if you have a thai friend that can vouch for you. Maybe not a possibility in your case but all good things come in time. I have a non p4p girlfriend and it took me a 2 months, way to much Baht, and much too much time to get to where I am now only to realize that I really prefer the p4p scene. Once you have a non p4p then the hassle really begins. I care about my TGF very much but not enough to tell her that I am coming back August 2nd instead of August 5th. IMO, I wouldn't rule out P4P ladies as potential GF's. There is alot of info written here and many guys have been warned of the dangers but as long as you realize there is a danger then it is proceed at your own risk.
IMO, you have to find an extraordinary Thai lady that really will be happy to eventually live outside of Thailand. Again just my opinion, but I think that most of them really want YOU to move here instead of the other way around.
One last insight, there is no perfect woman. If you think you will find one in Thailand, IMO you will be disappointed. They are just as moody or difficult here as in Canada. But there is one big difference here - they are very comfortable being a woman and I have yet to hear "But what about MY feelings".
Of course I don't speak or understand Thai language, so they maybe telling me that all the time and I remain blissfully ignorant!!

JA, blissfully ignorant is a good thing, I have not spoken to the inlaws for 6 and a half years, try doing that in the west and still have the missus happy as larry.
I dont agree about just AS moody and difficult here as the west, that cannot be anywhere near the truth. Dont get me wrong, they do get moody, they do get difficult, but the key is, not nearly to the extent of the west, certainly some do, but the majority I think not.
My missus also tells me 'what about her' at various times, usually after a night out or an arguement but.

Specifics aside, what I was trying to articulate (and not doing a good job of it) was that even as much as I adore the Thai 'package' it comes with many Genetic Defects as any woman from any other culture.
I still prefer the G.D.'s in Thai women than others.
I have made a career out being blissfully ignorant.
