You hit the nail right on the head when you suspected that foreign kids had been brainwashed into eating this junk food by TV commercials. It's seen as culturally hip for youngsters around the World to embrace the American cultural icons such a McDonalds and Levi jeans, Coca Cola and Pepsi, baseball hats, et al.
Quite why the youth of countries which have vastly superior National cuisines of their own eat this rubbish amazes me. Do we want obese Thai girls? Not on your nelly!

When I want a burger in the US, I eat at Fatburger. Probably not a lot healthier than McDonalds, but it sure tastes a lot better.

Its the canned laughter also. Kids are brainwashed into buying shit that has a label that is hyped. They are taught to laugh on cue. Watch simulated death in the movies and told its an "'action "'flick.. taught its ok for the state (like amercia) who has ""in god we trust""..on its dollar bill..to excute a person...They see big macs and KfC as cool..the clown goes after them at 2 years old with their pitch...they are f***ing sunk nationwide in obesity later. And some guy hates foreign food. Mate if your off to study law, thats real neat and we wish you all the best. But couldnt you have with that intellect of yours worked out that a foreign fish tastes pretty well the same as the ones in your country? Its the use of the word foreign that attracted so much spark here. I personaly feel you dont have a case to answer to..accept the inferred subtle racism in the "orgin "' of food. Farang is used to discribe westerners and its meaning is foreigner........and racism here in thailand is subtle but clear.....girls will refuse to f*** in many cases indians...baht buses changes are openly higher for Farangs....shops charge haircuts more farangs.....The tv is one big acid trip...but strangely its the canned laughter that you realise in the west along with fast food, that seems the most foreign in the end to sensiblities......Thais marvel at how much a chubby american, or australian child of 14 can eat at KFC or maccas.....and we let some clown tell them its wholesome and good......foreign food?

Don't blame Americans because some Brit doesn't like "foreign" food. I have never met anyone in the US who doesn't at least like Italian food. Most adult Americans like many kinds of ethnic food, including Thai.

Surely from a future lawyer you would expect they would do some reading on the subject.
