mulitable tickets. no other system helps. Ie july 17th, september 25th, you see your time home as detension time. But I would say bestmate your about to become a man that will soon realise living there is the "'final solution"' to a problem that just gets worse.

Agree in so far as i've had 6 1week trips in the last 12months. I think the next step would be a longer stay, like 1month....but I don't think living there would be the 'final solution' for me yet as there are other places, like Brazil and DR I would still like to visit.

I have been traveling to Thailand for over 10 years, mostly short 4 day to 2 week trips 5 or 6 times a year. I just put in my 35th visit here at the Grand Hyatt. And it is getting harder and harder to go home despite some bad experiences with some TG's. My solution is now fixated on taking early retirement and moving here within the next year. I just need to unravel the mess at home and try and keep enough cash to live well in Thailand.

I have just finished reading Stephen Leather's "Private Dancer" and before that I had "Hello my Big Big Honey (Love Letters to Bangkok Bargirls and their Revealing Interviews) ".
I have to admit that I was astonished of how much both books match with my own perceptions and reflect personal experiences over there.
Stephen's book was a real page turner, an exciting story easy to read.
So from my point of view this might be a good recommendation for those having to bridge the time until the next trip.

Came back from LOS two weeks ago. Been busy geting through the Xmas holidays but now that is over the PLD is now beginning to sink in. I had my best experience so far in Chiang Mai and BKK. But I said that about LOS everytime I came back from the trip. Finally checked out Forte in BKK. Nice cozy place unlike Carribean. Met some real beauties there. Also got taken to Tango. Most girls there do not speak English but there were some stunner there too. Went back to soi33. Spent lots of time at the Office and Renoir. The Office is a terrific hangout place with nice high ceiling. Took a beauty from Chiang Rai and had a great time with her. Local friends also took me to the "Coffee House" at the Siam Hotel. Wow, what a weird experience ! One of those things that can only happen in LOS. Got lucky at CM2. Will do a more detailed report later. But damn, I miss LOS

I just got back Wed AM and trying to get through my first week. Yes, had my boring dinner, watch some boring TV, maybe wack-off to a Natt, Lily Thai, or Lucy Thai DVD, log on here for a while, and dread another night alone before I have to wake up a 5AM and back to teacherl. New 4 month semester starts tommorrow. So I will put in my fourt months and than spend 4-6 weeks with my LTGF and decided if she is marryable. I figure another few days of PLD. I will get my ticket this week and begin the PLA which is actually quite exciting. Before this recent trip I had to wait 6.5 months!!!!!! That seemed like forever but when I look back it was not.

The more you go the easier it is.

Also, the 2-3 day pre-return is HELL!!!!!!!
Nothing is more painful that that long goodbye with your LTGF in front of the customs door (the door of darkness) and that Sixties drab Terminal #2. You have your hugs, cry, embrass, and than you have to break loose.

You look back as she waves to you and you must force yourself in that passage way, the Twiling Zone.

Finally you get your courage and cross the other side, go through customs and what do you see; a bright terminal turned into a return to Thailand department store.

I will close on saying that when I had to say goodbye last Wed at 0100, the goodbye was so long I almost missed my plane (darn!!!) I had to run to the gate and had only give minutes to spare.

Well, I only have a little more than four months to go and begin my PLA soon.

The secret is to have a good life here at home and to have certain goals before you go again. I am trying to lose my gut before I go so I will be very pre-occupied.

I hope you all feel better, I don't.

Noknoi,

what I particularly experienced since my last departure is the strong comparing focus on LOS that remains.

I mean I feel a bit shocked (?) about making it the "measuring stick" for everything else, especially in terms of value for money.
I am not prepared to pay more money for less value over here in Europe - value in the pure economic sense (beer, coffee etc.) as well as the added value through perfect entertainment and companionship. Why pay the hard earned cash in a dumb'n'dull pub here when I can have a good time at GT?
Its not that I don't like it (going out etc.) any more, but compared to what I could have - and certainly will have in a few weeks in LOS - its simply not worth the money.

Furthermore other travel destinations - formerly strongly favoured - rapidly lose in attraction, which is a shame. But I am only a poor sinner, hahahaha!!!!

On the other hand there are new interesting goals to pursue - go to gym and get athletic, learn Thai, read about the small things of culture and everyday life etc.

Okay, its not that manic... but what I wanna say is: There are two sides to a coin until you make it to live there forever...

Indeed. I always use the Thai measuring stick too. Not sure if this is a good idea but it is the way it is. I also measure women by Thai standards too.

Indeed, involve yourself as much as you can in Thai culture and do things that you now will make your next trip a good one. When I drag myself to work I now I am making money to finance my trips and feel good about. But damn, those first couple of weeks after returning. Well, I have one week under my belt and slowly getting my sleep back.

Yesterday I booked my flight for May so I am a bit more at peace.

Cheers
