Jeez Chang - So I guess we will need to change the law regarding gambling in Thailand before the Grand Casino opens huh? Bad news for the Thai boys that own Casinos opposite Aranyaprathet huh? Hermes knows different folks in the Nana area. Let us say a person who owns a well known beer bar just very near the Entrance to Nana Entertainment Plaza - hereinafter known as NEP. But I will let him speak up if he wishes to. One of the esteemed pool experts is seemingly confused as to why there are a few bars named Hillary down Soi 4 near Raja & Jool's. That's because the original site is being developed & Hillary wanted to get a new venue. Weekly pool tournaments are jointly hosted & sponsored by Ball in Hand & Hillary. Well discussed on here. How any of this might affect Bus Stop in still rather clouded therefore. As has been said a few times, I bet the owners of Bus Stop would like to get 10% of Bier Garten (Soi7) loyal customers to switch once the present day BG Soi 7 meets it's fate. If I were them I wouldn't wait.

Well chaps, I am simply passing on information obtained from a friend who is very much in the know. He happens to be a litigation lawyer for a select few upper level politicians. What you do with the information is purely personal to each every one of you. I like NEP, it is a place to go for a drink and choose a partner for an evenings entertainment if the urge tickles. So I shall miss it as will many, but there are plenty of other places and a similar venue will open elsewhere eventually. Anybody who thinks several 5 star hotels may move or go broke because of a rather large and entertaining whorehouse closes down, has less marbles than the average employee in NEP. Owners of businesses in NEP will not be saying much, that is the ones who are lucky enough to know. Why, because they want the atmosphere to continue till the last bell rings. They want all your hard earned quid and will not let gossip ruin the dash for cash in the last few months.

I spoke with Frank (the French guy with the long hair who's father owns a slew of bars in SC and NEP), he says its total rumor. He also pointed out that Rainbow group spent over 20 million baht on renovations and do you think they'd do that if they were going to be closed down soon. I also hear the same thing 'it's only rumors' from someone close to the lady who owns Morning Night, the Hillary bars and some others. Doesnt mean it won't happen, just passing the info I got last night.

My point was just that I hear a lot of that NEP will go down since its too much in face for families. Its just that without NEP there is absolutely NOTHING to visit in lower sukumvit area. Which means, NEP is the main attraction. And families who want sightseeing wont end up there is they dont specifically want to see area like that. And they are many who do. Just out of curiosity if nothing else. I hear a lot too that the 4-5 star hotels around NEP have been wanting NEP to close down. Which is kind of an contradiction. They build there in first place since its close to NEP. They would hardly go bankrupt if NEP goes down, but they would lose business. An american dude I know who works for CBN claimed that he spoken to a couple of owners to hotels, and that they in opposite of want closing NEP, they lobby to Thai gov for longer open hours. However that is hearsay. But I do trust that man. He dont have any reason to make it up, nor does he have an ego he needs to boost with "know it all" lies. Regarding Hillary and Busstop. That they might close in around a year and 1-2 month from now is more than a rumour. Hence why Hillary 2 is NOT named Hillary 2. The lovely owner wanted to keep the name hillary. Hence same name. Since it is said that when the lease is up for renewal it wont be. However TIT and that can change. Nothing is sertain in Bangkok until it already been made. But that word is from the owners.

Must be sus on what the French say,, I mean just look what they started in poor old Vietnam that was left for the Americans and poor Aussies to try and fix ( failed miserably). Are they trying another tact to make Thailand a province of France?????? God bless everyone who doesn't strart wars then run away and doesn't test nuclear weapons in other peoples peacefull countries then run away or blow up peace ships killing innocent people in an act of "terrorism" and run away and also take back the terrorists promising they will stay in jail in France and let them RUN AWAY. VIVA la FROG Having said that I have met some lovely, kind French people.

It's been estimated that collectively the Rainbow bars turnover at least 500,000 baht on a good night. They'll soon get that 20 million back.

Exactly Twinkle, although the Rainbow group do not share the profits combined as they are run somewhat seperately. But, let us say that my information is correct and let us also say that as in Thailand, things are delayed a little and the end of year scenario rolls out a few months longer to say March of next year. That is 9 months away. Those of you with some brains and the rest with a calculator can do the math and see that 20 million is nothing but a calculated gamble that will at least get them their money back and at most make them a small to large fortune. Sentry, do you think the arguement of expenditure of 20 million is really relevant when the big picture is taken on board. Do you think the Rainbow group hocked themselves into financial burden that the closure of NEP would send them to the wall. No, I think not. They spent the cash on a gamble and they can afford to lose it if it came to it, probably ten times over. Oh, I might add that the French guy with the long hair is a complete tosser as well.
