I want to stay in the Sukhumvit area and my buddy is wanting to stay around Khaosan Road. If I get my way, how long does it take to taxi between the 2 areas? Im thinking of a hotel around soi 20 on Sukhumvit.

At least. I cycled from Sukhumvit, Soi 8, to Royal Palace in about 40 minutes. I reckon it was faster than by taxi. A good bet may be by SkyTrain and then boat taxi: 20 minutes from Nana Station to Siam, change for Taksin station (the end one by the river). And then 20 or 25 minutes by river taxi to KSR (I forget the name of the pier).

travelled a few times from Suk Soi 15 to KSR at all sorts of times, and never took more than 30 minutes in a taxi. One guy even got us there in under 20, with my pants soiled when we arrived.. but thats besides the fact..
