soi 11 had some nice additions, Qbar 2.0 (a great relaunch), Oskar (great food, inexpensive coktails),
Apotheka (nice decor), Firehouse (great burgers), Bash (oh yeah), Levels (nah, not really), above eleven (nope, to expensive).
and lots of VW bus-bars.

After reading the FRs, it seems that there is a barfine (THB 500) to take girls out of a beer bar too ? did I get that right ? I thought that applied only to go go bars...

There is no barfine of course in the Beer Garden.
However, all beer bars having girls (either on or off the payroll) do charge a barfine (most likely 500 baht with usually 200 baht to the girl).
If you really want to save, tell the girl you know she gets that amount and you can negotiate her fee 200 baht down.
Don't know why you would think there is no barfine in beer bars. If there was no barfine in beer bars there wouldn't any of them in Pattaya.
BTW Apart from the after hours street bars, there are not so many beer bars around in Bangkok. One in Soi 20 and a couple in Soi 22.

Bar fines:
1) NEP - mostly 600 B
2) SC - mostly 600 B
3) Soi 22 bars - mostly 500 B
4) Titanium 2,000 B
5) Soi 33 Bars - 1,200 - 1,600 B
6) G-Clubs - 10 – 20 lady drinks (each lady drink about 300 B - 400 B, depending on which club you visit)
7) Patpong - mostly 600 B (except the Coyotes in Bada Bing which are 1,600 B ?)
8) Surawong - mostly 600 B (for the boys)
9) Oily massage parlors - 1,500 - 3,000 B
10) Other pool and beer bars along Sukhumvit (soi 20, soi 13, soi 4) - 600 B
You won't need to pay any bar fines, if you're taking a girl out of Beer Garden, Thermae, Nana Parking lot, discos and clubs such as (Mixx, Insanity, Climax, Q Bar, Spasso, etc.)

The barfine is protection expecially for newbies that if something goes wrong you can go back. To me its just a rip off to rack up an already inflated bar bill.
Bf in pattaya are cheaper if I recal.
But I usually go to massage joints or the street or
have regulars that come round as a rule I try to avoid bf.

Beer bars in Pattaya......some are 300 ( mostly ) 75%
Some still 200 10%
400 baht 15%.....usually will have music like band or better younger woman.
Go Gos......mostly 500-600 baht these days.....some of the better name Go Gos will charge 1000 for the top line girls ( showgirls )
However the quieter Go Gos are letting 400-500 BAr fines go.
Free lancer places don't ensure the same safety standard s.
You can pick a girl up from the disco or beach....and if she makes it into your room without an Identity card being taken your running a risk.
If they knock shit off.
Basically.....rules to remember
Hotel that insists on ID and has security.
Negotiate clearly before transaction.
( if newbie) stick to traceable girls and pay the bar fines.
Secure all passports and valuables and money in safe.
Stay calm in drama.....quietly and quickly arrange security to remove said crazy bitch if she refuses to leave.
If all she wants is 500-1000 more than asked for and she is red eyed or glazed eyed.....the best option is to give her the money...then get security to detain her....or let her walk and right it off.
Tell staff under no circumstances when in room with girl to permit 3rd individual up.
Once a girl arranged a Thai boyfriend posing as a taxi driver with a left behind baggage to come up and wipe me out and take the safe.
The bag had crow bag and screw driver and tape
Luckily the security guy who was tipped 100 baht by me nightly questioned him and then detained him.
He remembered when I flew to Chiang Mai two days earlier to briefly see brother I only had one bag.
The girl knew I had just come back to Pattaya.....and it's not uncommon to see taxi drivers return with luggage left...
I am sure some jumpers are victims of third person Sydrome and the hotel is better off playing along.
Better still just bar fine til you learn the ropes.
Thailand is pretty safe but you gotta play it safe til your seasoned.
People do die and/or getting screwed over......
It's unlikely but can and does happen to some poor f***er every night of the year.

But unless one is allready drugged out cold, it would take more than a crowbar to convince him to jump the balcony right? If me I d take my chances at fighting two guy with shotguns before I jump a balcony...
