Good news if you have money coming into Thailand from overseas (military pensions etc), but less good news if you're sending money out of the country.

Scobie the move hasn't been the Thai baht sliding it's been a USD move, the baht is now at a pretty similar level now to the GBP and EURO as it was in march with the Aussie only slightly stronger.
So you might want to consider, as you're actually putting money into it, not just is the Thai baht gonna keep sliding, but is the USD gonna continue it's bull run.

Lastly, as to the respective slide of Baht vs. USD, I've already saved over $6,500 USD in purchase cost on a 3 Mio Baht property from when the Baht was at 38 to the $$. If this continues until it's at or around 45 Baht to the $$, I'd be saving another (roughly) $7,000 -- so, where I'm standing, everything is becoming cheaper, and I can purchase either another $12,000 worth of property, or something larger... Yeah, it only kinda sucks if you get paid in Thai currency right now.

Happened to be wandering through a grocery store today & happened by the fresh fish. (Foodland Ramkamhang). I noticed that the Thai's have held the lid on prices very well. The price of fresh shrimp hasn't gone up at all. However the reckless policies of Herr Greenspan & those who adore him (Taksin) are going to engender a bout of inflation the likes of which haven't been seen since the Weimar Republic. Houses prices are out in front. High quality hi-fi equip has doubled in anticipation.
It won't be long till the price of seafood starts to rise. Those fishing boats run on diesel & diesel in Thailand is up 30 to 40% in the last 12 months.
Of course Greenspan's answer will be to lower rates to zero & print lots of new fiat dollars.
Lots & lots of tower cranes around Bangkok building lots & lots of new construction. I wonder who is going to buy/rent all that new floor space?
Those with cash will make a killing during the next crash. Stay tuned.
Edit In: So disappointed in big douchebag. I was so looking forward to knowing how things are in Philly.
