Maybe now's a good time to bring it up. I was thinking we ought to have a topic devoted to 'health issues.'
We could include everything from nutrition to workouts to stamina enhancers (Saeng posters above the treadmills? I dunno. Whatevers...) to STD topics etc.

Is there an need? And, would it be more useful to be central under a topic?

Yes, there is a need.

As BK pointed out in another thread there are rapidly becoming too many forums to be manageable, but I think that is a short term problem which can be remedied.

1) At some point a full regrouping of the forums is in order, it has grown seriously out of whack.

2) Also, the "Check New Posts" feature needs to be fixed and/or the "Last 25 Posts" needs to be expanded to make it easier to catch up; right now I have to drill down into each and every forum to check for new posts.

I agree with the "do what works for you" concept!

I am fairly young (22 yrs). I don't 'diet' in the sence where I count calories or anything but I do watch what I eat and avoid fatty foods and keep booze intake to a minimum.
I go to the gym 3 days a week and for a run (my run varies between interval training and a 10km run) 3 days a week keeping 1 day (Sunday) as my rest day.

I will reiterate what has already been said - *NEVER* try to lose weight fast by eating next to nothing and smashing yourself in the gym. Nothing could be worse for you. Ensure you are consuming enough Kilojoules to match your workload. As my personal trainer friend says - your muscles will start eating themselves!

Also, here are a few hints you can take onboard for any healthy eating -

1. Eat smaller portion meals but more of them. This keeps your metabolism cranking over.
2. Don't eat Carbohydrates within a few hours before you go to bed.
3. Don't eat too much before you exercise. Your stomach draws on a lot of blood when digesting food. This will make you tired during your exercise.
4. Here is the obvious one - ALWAYS eat breakfast! This meal will start up your metabolism and will help to burn your fat off even before you workout.

Good luck on your new lifestyle - after a while is becomes easier to maintain since you don't even realise you are 'dieting'

I have to echo Chompoo's comments (loathe though I am to complain or show ingratitude to the Benovolent Leader --BK) regarding the difficulty of getting caught up.
