I've been asked by a relative to look into buying some fabric to bring back in the hope that a regular supply can be started if the quality/quantity is good enough.

I've seen a couple of shops on Sukhumvit but does anyone know of any larger suppliers in BKK?

I've search under 'fabric' and nothing of use was returned.

Thanks in advance.

Just be aware that textiles are a 'quota' item, and one of the more complicated imports to the US, as well as one of the more tax-intense...if you're not in the US, I would STILL check carefully about your particular import situation...

how big is big??

the biggest one would be jongstit knitting co. ltd.

http://www.jongstit.com

but we are talking container loads here.

legions of wholesellers can be found in china town, on the market.

some are quota items, some are not. but there is always a duty.

Jongsit as sugested by RTB is good (they are my suppliers) but the only "problem " is that beacuse of the high cost of the production (expecially the dying process), you got to order no less than 1000 meter per kind of fabric or color!

Thanks for the responses. I'll get on the case when I next visit BKK.

I'm in the UK and I'm sure our government impose duties along the same lines as other so-called 'rich' countries!

Thanks again....

I was just using the search engine and this is the closest I found to the answer to my question. The place in China Town RTB posted looks good. However everyone seems to tell me China Town. Does anyone know where is somewhere closer to Sukhmvit to purchase fabric? I have looked through MBK, Platinum, Big C around Koh Chang and other places and everyone seems to give me a look like WTF am I asking for. I've only found loads of Thai Silk and Pahima's. Is Chatachuk the best bet?
