Ive seen snake and crocodile coats,ostrich shoes,ray jackets around Sukhumvit.Wondered if theres any new exotica out there....coats made from unusual animal skins etc. Any new products circulating (for legal importation w/ necessary paperwork) ? Not into big cats or bears,but reptiles.....or maybe something from an elephant.Would make an interesting winter coat.

You are a sick puppy. Wearing any type of animal skin as an outer garment these days IMO is OFF. Stick to belts made from cows.
Go buy a synthetic, leave the animals alone especially elephants. You are one of those people who support the trade. Where have you been the last 30 yrs.

A barramundi fish scale coat sounds good about now.
Cabbage, why dont you go and hunt down that elephant and skin it yourself, with a bit of luck you might get stomped to pieces and then we can skin you and have something really special to wear...a new birthday suit maybe.
Anything from 'unusual' animals usually means not so prolific which also can be interprited as possibly uncommon or rare.

Cows are bred to be eaten and they know it.
There are hundreds of millions of them on the planet. Just take a look at what some guys are walking around sukhumvit with, specially the yanks in Washington square.

of course cows can be loving and people have them as pets.
They are an accepted form of food in most parts of the world and with so many available around the world it will not hurt their numbers when used for human consumption and use the by products for leather belts or similar.
Possibly just in OZ, they may be around 15 million moo-cows destined for our plates. How many elephants or endangered type's of animals would there be left on the planet, not many I do not think. We have to preserve them, not slaughter them just for the sake of fashion.

Have you people never heard of "Mad Cow Disease"? I have stopped eating beef as a result. I have also stopped eating fowl as a result of the Avian Flu...and fish due to mercury poisoning. I am limited to some cuts of pork but it is not available where I am now. I tried hamsters but they make such a mess when they explode in the microwave I stopped that.
I am now on artificial meats made from some kind of peas and am rapidly dwindling down to a ghost of my former self. I don't know whether you can make a coat out of pea husks or not. If you can I wouldn't want to wear one in the rain.
Ravan, I am a Yank. What you got against us? We are nice people that like doing nice things for nice people. But I don't go to Washington Square.

I don't want to get into the cow verses Elephant saga,, how about a coat made from grass-hopper skins?
Or large coloured beetle shoes?
Personally I would love to try a whale burger but only if the numbers suggest to do so will not push them towards extinction,,,,,, and I dream to see a can of Tuna free Dolphin.
