Have some friends coming over to cold weather in January and just wondering if there is good place to buy coats in LOS or are the pickings slim or non existant? Would be nice to buy there if price better than expensive here..Any idae where to tell them to go...I can't recall ever seeing good winter coats..for obvious reasons!

The good tailor shops can custom make winter coats at a fraction of the price you'd pay for the equivalent in the U.S. or Europe. I had a fantastic cashmere winter coat done at Narin. However, these aren't bargain-basement prices, it's more a case of exceptional value for money and a coat that will last for years.

F-House Jackets, first floor, carries Columbia jackets for 3000-4000 baht.
North Face wanted 13,000 baht for one of the few jackets that they had.

First floor. They also have a second shop somewhere in the milieu on one of the other floors. The first floor shop is easier to find.
