hi, my buddy and I are planning for an end of february trip (i'm willing to supply a round of cheer for any board memebers that care to meet up...i've read most of your postings over the years and wouldn't mind saying 'howdy'.) and I was thinking that perhaps some good deals could be had on different flora from thailand. of course, actually taking the flowers/plants with is a no-no...but the seeds...ahh...now we're talking. anyone know where I can find a good selection of seeds? bkk or pattaya? -myrth

Dr Love is right about Chatuchack. But most of the seeds are the same sort on all the stalls and only two or three companies, if you are looking for other than veg and standard flower you will need to find a specialist. Best place I found was in Kungming, which is the home of most plants. what are you looking for, maybe able to help? DR thanks for PM helpful peter

well, i'm not really sure exactly what i'm looking for...i just had the thought last night that it would be cool to browse a totally different culture/climate/country's seeds...probably flowers. maybe some interesting indoor plants. any awesome strain of cannibus would be a nice find, but I doubt that would be on the menu as most "thai sticks" now are cambodian...so i've heard. but, I guess i'm mainly interested in flowers or nice indoor plants that won't kill my cats... -myrth PS - thanks to all that replied.

I brought back some seeds from Chatuchak and platned them to place on my tropical aqua-terrarium. They all growed except the Lotus ones... Mainly what I took was Thai vegetables that normaly grow in hot/humid places so they are perfect for this purpose. Price for one pack of seeds was 8 to 12 bahts... Madfrog

Myrth Most indoor plants come from tropical country's, that's why they live indoors they need humidity !and not direct sun, you can buy all variety's at any good Nursery in any City or town depending where you live? Unless you have bottom heat and a glass house it's not worth the trouble better to buy a plants that's have been hardened. stay away from Spathiphyllum if your cats chew this one there dead! Now the the other request is a here! type in your request into Google and I'm sure there will be plenty of info there.
