Big D - available on cd in Thailand is "Learning Thai Script" - if you want to learn to read and write as well as speak Thai it is a starting point. The cd is from the Australian National University and pirate copies are available in Thailand. I bought a copy 3 or 4 years ago from a computer software shop in Pattaya for about 150B. It trys to show you how to pronounce the letters of the alphabet as well as showing you how to write them. This is only a suggestion for starting out, however, and is no substitute for learning from a native speaker. Presumably you have thought about enrolling at a Thai language school for a couple of weeks if you are on holiday out there. Probably only a couple of hours a day or so required. You might be lucky enough to get a Thai lady teacher and who knows where that could lead. Good luck.

They have not, and as of a few months ago, they had no plans for one. Too bad, it was a good way to start.
