As this topic is about 'what do you call it', and 'it' being a penis, I would say;

JIMMY D

for being the absolute prick he is.

Perhaps you think it's fun to badmouth other members. If you are so good in Cantonese why not join in and give us your list of Cantonese words for penis. Oh, and MickyK1971 is probably not a Cantonese way of saying penis.

............

Cefalo (no direct meaning in English)

In Colombian (Castellano)
Membro (Member)
Chimbo Ý(Difficult to translate)

Sarge, and why are you surprised that I would know? There are millions and millions of people who also know that.

I think cefalo means "head" -I am guessing because I know "acefalo" means "without a head."

By the way, -though thecnically you are correct)- in Colombia they speak Spanish -yes, all the other cultural minorities in Spain hate having Castellano called Spanish -but if we can call the guys from the USA Americans, then we can call Castellano Spanish.

Anyway, in Spanish it is spelled miEmbro (and not membro).

The translation of "chimbo" that I can think of -based on the meaning the word has for me is "no good" (as in poor quality, fake, false). Like in "ese reloj es chimbo" (That watch is no good). I think the origin is from a coin os small value that people didnt like to have. I didn't know Colombian brothers had that other meaning for it. I hope yopu didn't learn that meaning from a girl who used to call your dick "chimbo" Ý- she may have been pulling your leg.

P.S. BTW, Micky971, I find it surprising that YOU who a few weeks ago was telling off all of us off about flaming DG, and asking us to be nice to DG and not insult him, would now jump at insulting Jimmy D who is nowhere near as universally disliked as DG was. This comment from me has nothing to do with the underlying matter BK and Jimmy D are discussing (I have no clue) or with me agreeing or disagreeing with the tone of Jimmy's posts. Even if Jimmy is wrong (for being the prick he is ), I think that you insulting a member after complaining to many about insulting DG doesn't make you look that good.

Smegma -
from the way you reply I can deduct that you are not part of those million people that know the lingo. ?

Anyway - Cefalo is actually a kind of fish, can't find the equivalent in English, perhaps if you get back to the trusted Altavista Babelfish, you may find the answer. Ý;)

You are correct when you say that "membro" in Spanish should be spelt (note the spelling) "miembro". We all mis-key when typing, on occasion. Ý

Castellano is the common term for Spanish language - under the Spanish Constitution Castellano is Spain's official language, but in some of the autonomous regions it shares official status with another language (see in Catalona where they speak Catalan) - while in Latin America tend to favour the term Castellano to Spanish, which to them has colonialist undertones.

Castellano is originated from Castilla in central Spain, hence the term Castellano.

Regarding the precise meaning of Chimbo, it is true that it literally means "fake or no good" but in Colombia the word has acquired undertones of sometimes bad but also powerful - same as the English word "wicked" has changed meaning, here in the U.K.

How did I learn that? simple - from a "Long Hair Dictionary" as BK calls them! In fact they always commented on how they liked it, when they were handling it. On a serious note my familiarity & knowledge of S.American girls is far, far superior than Thai ones.

You still haven't addressed on how comes you know so well those words.................

Which one of our meanings is correct?
Oh no Mickeyk1971-yet another one of Robin Hard's merry men.

I didn't know I was supposed to address it. Did you ask me. BTW, yes, you guess correctly from my reply that I am not among the millions.. But you were surprised before my reply. Thus I still think there was no reason to be surprised at first, when you initially said you were.

As I said, I was guessing what cefalo is from what I do know acefalo it is -and without having to go to that place you mention and where I cannot go "back" because I haven't been there yet. Acefalo is "without head" so I am guessing the "A" is the "without" part and "cefalo" is the "head" part of the word. Perhaps you cefalo fish is so named because it has a big head.

Actually .... let me go check here http://www.m-w.com/cgi-bin/dictionary

Yes, there are English words for both:

aceph…a…lous
Etymology: Greek akephalos, from a- + kephalE head -- more at CEPHALIC
Date: circa 1731
1 : lacking a head or having the head reduced

Main Entry: cephal-
Variant(s): or cephalo-
Etymology: Latin, from Greek kephal-, kephalo-, from kephalE
: head

Come to think of it .... I guess it makes sense. Don't we have also the world "Phallus" for dick which shares similarities in sound with "Cephalo".

Check on your fish, I guess it must have a big head or somehow the name has something to do with it head

Regarding Spanish and Castellano, I also said that you were technically correct, but for the world, "Spanish" is the word for the language. When people from Mexico or Argentina travel to Italy and want a dictionay, they look for an Italian-Spanish dictionary and not for a Tuscan-Castilian one. If you go to Turkey, what language do you expect to hear people talk? Turkish or Osman?

Again for the sake of continuing on my pedantic mood, lets also go check .... what could be possibly find published in almost every language ..hmmmm .... I guess the UN would very much feel proud publishing the "Universal Declaration of Human Rights" in almost every language we can think of. Lets look for it and see how they index Castilian and Spanish.

I found it! Here http://193.194.138.190/udhr/navigate/alpha.htm

They list Spanish and not Castilian. But for your comfort they list several of those other languages spoken in Spain by some groups (Basque, Catalan, Galician).

So? ÝWe agree that technically the name of the Spanish language is Castilian. Do we also agree that the world doesn't really give a f_ck about Castilian? Ý- well besides those other guys in Spain who resent having to call it "Spanish", and a few academics who make a living of this kind of stuff.

Jimmy D, yes I guess you are right. It feels like being in a warp machine going to the past

P.S. Sarge, I hope you do not take it badly/personally. This is just me. I am the same smart ass with every body.

EDIT: Are we ever going to get a final answer on the BK - JIMMY D discussion? I am getting curious now to know what "haam sup" really means.
