Krypto:

bpai tahng nai ray-o tee soot? means "what's the fastest way to go?" -- nothing there about "as soon as possible".

Abrak:

"chuai maa tinni rayo thisut " doesn't really mean "please come here as soon as possible" -- it means something closer to "help (me) come here fastest". even if you wanted to make a grammatically correct translation of part of your sentence, and substituted "quickly" -- even 'as fast as possible' -- for "fastest", there's still nothing there about "as soon as possible".

'soon' and 'fast' are not equivalent terms in either language, even if you translate 'soon' as 'reo-reo nee', though I suppose one could say 'reo-reo nee ti sut' in an attempt to approximate 'as soon as possible', even if what you’d really be saying, albeit rather awkwardly, is 'soonest'.

DrLove
Phom jaak sang dtooa kreungbin
I would to order an airline ticket

Khun jaak thong gan muarai?
When do you want it?
Or more accurate: 'When would you like to receive (have) it?'

Rew Thii Soot
As soon (fast) as possible.

Note for Sorapong who's unable to distinguish 'thong gan' (polite for 'want') from 'thong' ('required' or 'have to') :

Please note 'thong gan' used as the polite version of'want'.

Another short one:
'Thong gan rew thii soot'

To want something as soon (fast) as possible.

Or

Duan tii soot

Equal meaning.

Another free lesson from DrLove's Thai Clinic.

but your banter is great entertainment value

Phom jaak sang dtooa kreungbin

-- one presumes you mean 'yak' rather than 'jaak', which means 'from'.

Khun jaak thong gan muarai?
When do you want it?
Or more accurate: 'When would you like to receive (have) it?'

-- I have no idea what that redundant and retarded 'jaak' is doing in there. Are you trying to write 'When do you want to want it?'? Or is it finally dawning on you that 'tawng gan' is considered so overly polite that it is most routinely used to express something more than a simple 'want' -- as when one 'needs' or 'requires' something, both of which conditions would help you support your own case for construing 'reo ti sut' as 'as soon as possible'? Oh, and speaking of accuracy, there's nothing about "receive" or "have" in what you wrote. Are you unfamiliar with the Thai words for those terms?

Rew Thii Soot
As soon (fast) as possible.

-- again, 'reo ti sut' means "fastest" or (potentially) "quickly", but yes, fine, go ahead and say it that way; this hair has been split enough. That’s right, genius, I’m conceding this point to you.

Duan tii soot

-- means what? 'month-est'?

And now that I've no doubt bolstered your already groaning self-confidence, allow me to point out that you're still dodging the issue of that big face-to-face you were so aching for just a short while ago...

That I have to agree with. I've never, ever heard anyone use "yahk tawng-gahn". Either just say "tawng-gahn" (I need) or "yahk dai" (I want to have)

DrLove>> Duan tii soot

-- means what? 'month-est'?

I don't see the problem with DrLove's transliteration here. I would transliterate "duan" (as in quick, fast, express) that way too, whereas I'd transliterate the word for month as "deuan".

Very entertaining thread. Just wanted to shove my spoon into the mix. And as for the big face-to-face challenge, well, from the threads I've read, sorry but it's quite obvious that DrLove would not stand a chance.

Correct. The 'jaak' slipped in accidently in the second entry while typing. The first entry stands.

But wasn't it to give an example of 'Rew Thii Soot'?
