Hi brothers,
just a very short & easy question...anyone can advise which is the correct procedure if I want to 1. bring into LOS 20,000US$ and then 2. eventually bring out what is left after a little bit of spending? Do I have to declare the money upon arrival and departure or else?
Please replay with SERIOUS and USEFUL advices only!

As far as my knowledge no limitations on im and export of foreign currencies. Might be worth to double check with Thai Customs though.

will you be changing all the money into THB or not?
and will it be brought by hand or transferred through banks?

1. I'll carry the money by hand at Dong Muang
2. No I won't change'em all in Thai Baht as I'll change'em day by day.....
So, do I need to declare all the money upon arrival so I'll be able to bring out what is left upon departure?

Holy sh*t!
You must have bowling ball sized balls to be carrying 20k USD by hand. What if you get rolled?
Why not just open a savings account in your home country and get an ATM card for the account? The exchange rates seem okay for ATM's.
If you get searched in customs and they find all that cash, you might be in for a long day?
Just my opinion.

I think its bit risky and not advisable due to all what is happening around the world. If you will be search on arrival and found having so much hard cash and will not be able to reply what exactly your motive to bring this cash, you might be in trouble. I think its better to put it in an account and have an ATM. it works fine in LOS.
There are certain limit to export thai currency out of LOS. But no restriction for foriegn currency.
Its good that usually BG's dont bother to read this forum otherwise by giving an ad. like this you are going to create a shortage of girls for other bros.

Dress well, put an expensive watch and if the customs stop you just say it's for your personal expenses. As little as 20k will not even buy you a deluxe suite at the Oriental for 1 month anyway ! You can also say you are planning to buy some jewellery.
On your way back say you changed your plans. If it is not bahts and not huge amounts (20k is still ok) the Thai customs have nothing to do with it.
I would worry more about the 4500 bkktonite members that may now wait for you at the airport with baseball bats !
