Sorry for such non fun questions. The cost for schools is more than I want to spend. So I quess that rules out bringing a niece with the wife. Would like to have someone for the wife to hang out with. Has anyone had a helper from the PI. come with them? thanks for the info

Having a little trouble following your logic. Why do you need to bring a playmate for your wife to Bangkok? Is she Filipina? Does she speak English? There are plenty of things for expat wives to do in Bangkok, some of them quite affordable. And household help is relatively inexpensive there.

Yes she is Filipina, with good English, and does like outings with someone. I get more free time when she is busy. I like our current helper, she knows my likes and stays out of the way.

Maybe it was where I worked, but I knew quite a few Filipinos in BKK, both male and female. You might want to import someone for a little while if it's not too cost prohibitive, but in the long run she should be able to meet people, make friends of her own, etc.
