Of course. There are money exchange booths on the inside and outside of customs. Once you pass customs they are on the sides as you go to the "exit" into the main terminal. There are also several inside the rest of the terminal. Plus lots of ATM machines, particularly at the BTS stops nowadays.

prominent money changers in Sukhumvit area
are located just outside the Ambassador hotel,
then there's the bangkok bank opposite (both
right next to the overpass stairs). another one
just outside the landmark hotel.

If you use the machine in the baggage area it's along the same wall as customs. Make sure you have new $100. You get the same rate as if you you used the money exchange. Usally no line at the 2 machines. Wait till you arrive BKK and use the duty free shop in the baggage area. Good prices and you don't have to haul it half way around the world.
Get your seat on the left side of the plane nearest the door and hustle your butt up to immiagration. The lines can be brutal. Less then 24 hours before I leave to hustle my butt to immagration.

Duty free shop in the baggage claim area? Cool! Is this new, within the last year or is this just additional proof of how unobservant I am?
That having been said, I usually use Thai Farmers Bank to exchange money but why Thai farmers need a bank is beyond me when most of them can't afford toilet paper or the fact that I have already bought enough buffalo to supply over half of Isarn, who needs a bank? Go figure! ;)

Yes indeed, make sure they are new bills. I have left LOS with older bills as noone would change them for me. In 99 it was not such a big deal but here lately it's become a problem. Good luck, vertigo, dolce31 and happy hunting...
