I used Bangkok Bank at my first job, but then switched to and still have an account at Thai Farmers...just keep a couple hundred bucks in it....but they are always very good on my visits, and I find their exchange rates pretty good..although I usually use them on my initial exchange and then usual ATM debits after that....
It is a very good bank, and the reason I was introduced to them was that my old boss had them direct deposit for our payroll and I always recieved good service and even a Birthday card is still sent to my in-laws house from them LOL!....my Mother-in-law saves them like it is something important

I dont know if its all thai banks but since August the government guarantee all funds in Kasikorn Bank for 1 year. 2 year is 100 millions and 3 year 50 millions.
