Thanks a lot for writing details about pattaya & Bangkok.
Dave, this just discussions and not debate . I got more informations thru your opinions.........still like to think again. may be 2 nights or max 3 nights inBKK and 7 nights in pattaya would be fine with me for good relaxing .

Hi Bimlee,
I think you are doing the right thing in splitting your time as you plan.
I will be in LOS biefly next month but I plan to do something similar to you in June. I am spending 5 days in BKK ( to meet some regular "friends" ) then to Pattaya for a week. I plan to hire a motorbike and a girl and take-off.

My experience of prices in BKK are 1000B - 1500B on average + bar fine for all night. I would point out that I have not been with anyone from go go bars so could not comment on price there. Basically it's a sales game they will take you for as much as they think you are willing to pay. This is not the west don't be suckered in to paying western prices

Liked Payatta girls better but did not hang at the go go places or indoor bars. I don't get this talk about how expensive everything is becoming.......is there a sudden shortage of girls (I think not) the shortage is in tourists especially US types since 9/11. In economics I learned about supply and demand.....try being nice and talk sweet and offer low...you will be surprised. Even if you are to low you will almost always get a reasonable second offer.

Yep I agree with Casey above.
I just returned from Pattaya and there was an oversupply of girls and not many customers. I liked the beer bars and was getting long time for 500 Baht (plus bar fine).
In fact when I asked the girls how much they wanted, they often reply "up to you". So I offered 500 Baht and they were generally happy.
Given there were not many customers, I reckon they were after any money they could get their hands on.

i just can't understand why everyone natters on about the girls are asking/charging this price for lt, this price for st..etc
i have been myself 3 times to thailand now, 4th in jan, and I haven't once been told how much I need to pay. thats because the girls simply, do not ask, ever.
(well, I haven't met any that do anyway lol)

Give us residents a break. The "tourist" that come here from BKK or whereever are driving up the prices not the local's.
Normally Pattaya is a lot cheaper than BKK without the "attitude" that the BKK girls have. I have a friend that has bars in both places and the one's that come to Pattya bring that attitude with them and demand that they get 2, 000 for LT. As mentioned before it was 500 LT no problem.
Now it's getting hard to find a beer bar girl that doesn't want 1000 ST.
IF your visiting PAttaya leave your big wallets in BKK, it spoils the girls down here. I know it seems like nothing to give a girl 1000 ST "not that they don't deserve it" but for the guys that live here on a fixed budget it kind of crimps the budget for us. Thsi is true when you have a regular and someone comes in and pays 2000 a day for her, then she wants 1500 from you because the other guy paid it.
