Well I thought I'd give an update...........I bought the condo A year last October. 850,000 bht........... Decorated, fitted and kitted it out and paid all legal expenses etc for another 150,000.......So a million all in. I love the place. I travel light these days. All my gear: clothes, golf clubs, guitar just wait for me there. I tool up to heathrow with a passport an ipod and a smile. The great thing about a condo over a house is independence, quite simply it's mine. No tempreMENTAL Thai totty to rip up my passport and photos, pour oil over my clothes and threaten in turns to jump out of the window, or have me killed or thrown out of HER house!! I still use hotels sometimes for freelancers and soi 6 for short times and I'm wary who I invite back to my 'Home' It's important to be careful. I can't just check out of a condo if I need to exricate myself from a 'situation' This vulnerability is about the only downside I can see so far. The number one upside result however, has been the friendships I've made from the condo's community. I can't be sure but I suspect it would be much harder to meet people in a housing complex. Financially, because I spend about 80 days in Thailand a year and I always used The Penthouse, I save about 3500 gbp on hotel bills. Another 3 years and I've saved the cost of the condo. I will never sell this place. 15 floors up the sea just 100 metres away. At 'Pat atic dock din' the view is spectacular Champagne and the feel of smooth thai skin..................

I would be mroe worried about getting your money out of Thaiand should you wish to sell up rather than getting your money into the country. Ive heard a few bad experiences with this. P24*
