Here is my 2 cents on budgeting for a newbie vacationing in Bkk.
A night of agogo bar hopping ending with a LT in BKK realistically costs about 3500B. This includes 4-5 drinks for you + 3-4 ladydrinks for her/mamasan + BF + LT fee.
An afternoon soapie including tips and drinks is another 2500 B. Then there are foot massage/Thai massage, meals, transportation, touristy expenses, a little souvenir shopping and some inevitable tipping.
All these expenses can easily add to 7500-8000 B a day, and this figure has not yet accounted for hotel payment.

Such a ticket can cost between 400000 baht to 120000 baht. Divide that by say 10 days, and you get 12000 to 40000 baht a day alone. You want go el cheapo with an economy class ticekt? This may cost you about 40,000 and still adds about 4000 baht a day for a 10 days stay. So getting to LOS is what may cost more than staying there in some cases...

First off, only fools with money to wipe their ass with would pay for a full face value First Class ticket. Just for the price of that ticket you could f*** like a porn star in BKK for a month.
Secondly, if you have enough money to spend on a Biz class ticket, you should not be worrying about the price of your holiday.
I would ride in the cargo hold if that is what it took to party like a viking in BKK.

But outbouded flight is mai pen rai. Just unhappy no matter what class of ticket I have.

Visitors who have time can pace themselves, but time is of the essence for short-stay tourists.
Yes, I go to different soapie in late afternoon/early evening everyday. In the off day, I still have an oil massage with extra. I consider this is merely following the local ritual. 5555555
I don't like sleeping alone any night in BKK.
I stay there only 5-10 days every trip though.

I go to Bangkok every two years on a shopping trip. I prepare a budget everytime. They have averaged around $6,000 to $7,000 per visit. For my September trip, the travel and accomodations makes up 43% of the budget. Unfortunately this percentage keeps increasing. I always fly economy and now stay in serviced apartments. The trips average 9-10 days, mainly to allow enough time for fittings.
Before each trip I usually spend several months scouting out the best airfare and hotel. Over the years I have stayed at the Nana (2), Four Winds (2), Omni Tower, Pres Solitaire, and Floraville. This next trip I'll stay at the President park
