Ok,thailife,, let's see if your 20 years as a Janitor in financials can help with a decision I am contemplating and wishing to recommend to others.
I'm being straight here, no bull-shit.
Ok,as I have stated I usually invest in banks,,solid reliable / safe.
Our family trust also took a gamble on Centro shares, CNP code on the Australian stock exchange.We bought in at around AUD2.50,,,they rose up to $8.00 and then suddenly down to $1.03.We got out at $1.80 and rebought at$1.10.
On the initial investment of $2.50, add dividends etc,,we are still way in front.
Now I am personally looking at grabbing another $10,000 worth,,why?
OK,Centro own a lot of American shopping Malls etc,,,the problemis liquidity. Yes,they got caught out in the sub-prime credit squeeze.
So their only problem is refinancing the 1.3 billion debt.
Liquid assets are 191 million,
Management fees have been halved in the last 18 months.
And they have paid 33cents + each year in dividends for the last 3 years.
They have also shown profits of 469million,664 million and 194 million over the last 3years
I like to simplify things,so lets remove the last 6 zeros.
I want the bank to lend me $1,300,,,,I have profited in the last 3 years $1,327.My security is in property.
I have a deposit (liquid assets if $181).
I know I am over simplifying things but for my thinking the down-side is liquidation at around 80 cents a share
, a loss of 23 cents.Up-side,share returns to it's true value of $5.00-$5.50.
???

ok guys...as much of a thread fight as I have caused..and there have been several over on Z... I say this... mel all the love to you bro but really let it go...
the thing us bro's are worried about is what we get when change out money or pull from atm and at the moment it seems to be a paultry 33.something...
it sucks but what are you gonna do?????
