Well thailife,,,no,advice,soIwent on my insticts.
Grabbed 5,000 Centro shares at $1.02 ( AUD).
Couple of hours later it bottomed at 98 cents,,OH,MEL,,what have you done??? 4% loss in a couple of hours!!!
YEP,as,said before I have always played very SAFE stocks normally banks.
As the day went by I found myself, refreshing the CNP price near every 15 minutes,,LOL.
Well,obviously I was not the only one who likes Centro,,,,fist I saw $1.08,,,then $1.12 then $1.18,,,,$1.21 AHHHHHHHH,,,,,yep I chickened out at
$1.21.
CNP peaked at $1.24,,,,, I could hear it,,,Mel you chickened out,,,but,,but.... yep.I chickened.
I took the $950 -$40 fees = $910 and spent it on my favourite bank share.
I still kept the original $5,000 in my trading account.
Off too work, feeling happy about the $910, but somehow not so happy.Istill think this company is worth $4.50 in its current form and if forced to sell 30% of its assets it's still a $3.00,,,,
Afternoon shift is very VERY busy and I hardly get 5 seconds too myself,,,,LOL.
Anyway my lap-top and wireless modem just happened to be there and somehow ACCIDENTLY turned on????
During breaks to wipe the sweat from my brow, I watched the market correct after the intial price being pushed up by a 17 million share buy.Somewhere I guess profit takers,,,,CHICKENS like me I said to myself.
Price went $1.17,$1.15,$1.12,,,,,,
Ok the Chicken wants back in,,,but at what point???
??? 15%,,,less than sold (round figures,,,,so $1.06 is non chicken time.
Got the full order around 4;15pm,,,didn't feel like such a chicken now.
Tomorrowsanother day,but I'm stillwaiting forthailifes20 years ofexperience to add his advice.
YEP, this belongs "elsewhere',so I will moove it as of today.

Thailife pretty much hit the nail on this stock stuff a few days back.
10 years ago I had my ex-wife put $10,000 of her TSA into Phillip Morris (now Altira) at $38 per share. With its consistant minimum dividend of 1.25 per share being re-invested that investment is now worth about $35,000 or 25% per year.
If she had sold when it dropped to $18 and took her small profit (from dividends and a split) she would not be where she is now.
Think of short term investment as gambling, sort of like playing the slots or betting on a horse. You do it for fun and whilst you may make big money its a bonus.
Any investment for retirement should be put in a balanced stock portfolio and held for the long-term. This is where most of the money is made...

apollo,,, I'm not having a go at you,,,,but a copy and paste of someone elses opinion counts for little.
Especially when said copy lacks any detail.It shows neither the value of the company nor it's asset,Vs's debt situation.
China sailor,,,in what way did" thailife"hit the nail on the head??? By running away from comment??? Or was it the brilliant copy and paste of someone elses thinking??
I have several times stated that my money has always sat in conservative shares and that is the best long-term plan.
The Aussie banks are safe and have far out performed China sailors Phillip Morris.

hate to disilluion you but this works out at only around 13.3% return over 10 years - still not too shabby though
