While on the subject of GWB :-
Did you guys watch the Oscars on TV yesterday ? I thought Chris Rock was a riot when he said, " After the recent Presidential Elections I have developed a great admiration for GWB - after all he is about the only person who re-applies for a job and GETS IT even though through-out his re-application process there is a movie ( Farenhiet 9/11 ) telling everybody how he sucked at the job earlier."
And then Chris Rock goes on to say, " Consider - if you had a job at the GAP and at the end of the day you were short of US$ 7 trillion - would you have a hope in million of getting back that job ? And if at the end of that day, after being short of US$ 7 trillion, you decide to wage war on BANNANA REPUBLIC because you think that they make Tank-Tops with Toxic material, and after 1000's have died in this war and Billions of Dollars have been spent you find out that BANNANA REPUBLIC did not even make Tank-Tops in the first place - would you have a hope in a million of getting back your job ? "

It was actually extremely poor showing for the Oscars - as none of what he said had anything to do with movies. It's already bad enough that some actors in the past have tried to hijack the Oscars for their own politic purposes - having the emcee do so during the monologue is extremely poor form.
He won't be invited back next year - not just for that, he actually sucked as a host - and I generally like his stand-up (however tired and predictable as it is), but he was miscast for the Oscars...

Maybe Chris Rock's joke would have been a little funnier if Bush was responsible for the whole $7 Trillion, or if it wasn't the case that Gap owns Banana Republic.

Actually the funniest line that Chris Rock said was when he turned to Oprah and said : " now Oprah has so much money.......I actually saw John Kerry proposing to her before the show"............that brought down the house which is about 85% liberal while the best director and best picture award goes to Clint Eastwood- a staunch Republican-I do feel that Hollywood is so politically correct that if Chris Rock really did his things ( and I am a big fan of his- got all his DVDs in live shows- hilariously and politically incorrectly funny), half of the Hollywood crowd that night would have walked out of there......Chris Rock is a genuis but he held quite a lot back that night......I am hoping he DOES NOT want to host the Oscar again, because it actually tarnished his image.........
