First thing DG, if you had read this link you would have seen it was not written by Stick but one of his readers who has traveled extensively in SEA.
Secondly, I first moved to Asia when I was eight and have spent most of my life here. The fact is that most people cannot adjust to reality of living overseas and end up trying to live a fantasy that they have seen on TV or read in books.
There are exceptions but they are far and few between and I believe that we who live here have an obligation to point this out to people before they make the jump. Hopefully this will put off the wannabes and weak-willed who will just end up ruining their lives...

Back to the original subject,,, I think 20,000,000 BHT invested in the correct areas would be more than enough to enjoy a hopefully long and happy retirement.

Stickman uses a book to pretend its a contribution * (in your instance) then comments on its objectivity, which is just so irrelevant to the northern Life.
I adjusted very well to it.
Many have, and continue to do so.
Mate your little stickman dribble straight out of library books about adventures in south East asia.
Is about as accurate as The "moon dance " is to Being Neil armstrong in 1969 july.
Its just so stupid it really deserves no further comment.
Sure, some (those that dont know) cant adjust.
Many on the other hand embrace it and daily remember it. Theres so many positive stories that I have to ignore your bait ups.
