Just wondering how many of you lot out there have got yourselves into debt, just to finance your trips to Thailand, and by how much ?
Ý I can see that this is something that people might not want to admit to, but I know people will do anything to get here, and why not.
Ý About 10 years ago I was about £5000 in debt, all spent on Bangkok trips. Realized it would be better for me to live here ! Ý

I don't know if this is really considered going into debt but the couple of times I've gone to Pattaya I've put about US$2,500 on my credit card each time above and beyond what I took with me but I've paid it each time with the first credit card bills that I get with the charges on them.
The times I've gone up-country only, I'd had "trouble" trying to spend all the money I brought with me but then again, there isn't much to spend it on.

Hello all
Well I just racked up 700 bucks for a plane ticket and 350 bucks for a hotal on the CC. So I.m in debt right now over a grand for this trip and I not even there yet. I figure if i do a little budgeting for my 12 day stay I can do the rest for another 2000 or so maybe better if I don;t drink like a fish or barfine more then 1 girl a night. funny how your budget goes right out the window after a few drinks uh guys. I really have 4000 to spend on this whole trip but I am putting a effort to make it a 3000 dollar trip that way if I go a little over board I got 1000 dollars in excess Oh well just have to work a little overtime to make up for it

I keep looking back over what I spend each time I go to Bangers.
Excluding air fares, I always seem to averager about USD200-250 per day, on the wine, the women and the song. (Accom, booze, ladies, entertainmet).
Sure I buy a few gifts for them aswell, but this seems to be my $$$ rut. So I have a pretty good idea each time on the up front damage that I will do to the Amex.
My only self control is that I have to clear the Amex totally the next month, otherwise it gets stopped. One way not to carry the debt for a long time.

debt,tell me about it.
on a good day with multiple BF's i would spend around 13-14,000 bt(hotel included).
on a bad day when i behaved,4-5,000bt.
probably an average of around 7,000bt a day.
on a month long trip,£110-120 a day.
and that's with flight s,gifts and anything else.
it soon mounts up.

It's very easy to get credit in the military because you simply fill out a form that deducts payment from your monthly pay and if you stop payment -- if you don't they just go to your CO and he deducts it. So loan companies will give a wad of cash if you can show how long you will be in the service.
Twice when I was in the Army I got a loan specifically to supplement my funds for a trip to Bangkok, blew it all here and paid it off before I was out of the military.
