The best way is to set up a savings account ina US Bank with a ATM. Send or give the ATM to your TGF and instruct her to withdrawal 8000 THB a month. Actually given Thai girls inability to budget tell her to withdrawal 2000 THB a week. You will accomplish a number of things:
1. Determine if she is smart enough to use an ATM.
2. See if she is honest and not wanting to milk you dry; don't fall for any excuses for overdrawing.
ATM's will give a very good exchange rate and only charge a nominal $3>$5 on the transaction.
I would keep only about $300 > $400 into the account so if she turns out to be a bad pineapple your loss is minimised.
Western Union/ Moneygram will rob your blind, First they suck on the excahnge rate then they f*** you over service charges. Hey if you want to be sucked and f***ed better to be by a TG.

If you are doing this on a regular basis then open up a second free checking account at your primary bank that is not linked in any way to your main account. You can transfer funds to and from the account and on a monthly basis move the funds into the account. Send her an ATM card for the second account. You will also have a transaction record of where the funds are withdrawn in case she is supposed to be in Isarn and not Bangkok. You'll know. Transaction fee is minimal. I think I pay about $1.50 U.S. per withdrawal.

Thanks Guys.. ATM is it then. I guess the transaction fee is lower and exchange rate is better. For a 200 usd transaction, emoneygram wants 10 usd transaction fee and exchange rate is 39.5.
Do I have teach her to use the card.. these girls can use convert mobile phones into an ATM card. And, of course, keep only 400-500 in that account.

Just a bit more on this..
if you open a Citi bank account.. they have a branch in Bkk.. you can use the ATM with no charge..
I have a Thai female friend that uses this to send money to her family..
I am thinking of doing this too as it would be easy for me too..
Not sure if you can open an acount for the Thai girl in Thailand at Citi and then make deposits here.. anyone know about that??

You may be better off with Citi - I spoke withe guys from Bangkok Bank at a Thai conference, and I came away from the conversation with more questions than I had, and no clear concept on what they do. I couldn't open a bank account, couldn't deposit my money into my bank account (I have an account with Bangkok Bank), nor anything else (like deposit or withdraw money without fee). Things may have changed in the past 4 months, but you may really want to do some checking on that.
