Hi guys,due to visit LOS in November and was wondering if you could give me any advice about what things to buy there which would make me a decent profit in my country(U.K)? I don't wish to spend a lot of money on things like jewels,cheers guys

buying fake rolex type watches can pay off.. used to have a friend who would take back about 20-25 each trip.. made about US$20 a piece on them so paid for his hotel.. they are small .. however, once he got caught and they confiscated all but two of them.. check your local laws??
You can make money on T-shirts, but you have to buy a lot and lug them back.. then market them?? a lot of work for the money..
Sterling silver could be a decent idea, but you have to have a way to sell it when you get home .. you can't wholesale as there are too many people already in that business.. sterling silver is pretty damn cheap and rings and earrings take little space .. but where to peddle them??
Probably the best money maker would be to stuff a cutie in your carryon and take her back and set up a brothel in you home 
Making money this way may seem easy, but it is not..
Avoid gems unless you know them .. you can get burned big time..

I made £5 profit on football shirts on my return to UK the other week. OK I was really doing favours for guys in UK, but I am sure you willl know that real soccer shirts cost around £40 in UK. Perhaps a good number of your buddies in UK would like a copy shirt. If you shop around then you can find some good quality copies for around £5.

I would not recommend fake Rolex watches. They will get confiscated and the Rolex attorneys will file charges against you. This could cause a lot of headaches.

I was searched on one occcasion last year. I was carrying about 12 copy watches, mainly TAG.
The customs officer said " oh, bringing a few presents for friends" He did not confiscate them.

Dave, you were lucky. Sometimes the customs officials do not want to bother filling out all kinds of paper work etc. Other times they are looking for more dangerous contraband and will not waste their time on watches or clothes. Now a days with all the security and terrorist threats they have bigger fish to fry.

Knew of a guy who bought a whold load of sunglasses and sold them in the UK at the beach for £1 each. He made a tonne of money there well, enough for his trip here and other expenses too.

Im sure many of us who travel to LOS a lot have all tried this but to be honest its just now worth the hassle. If you try and "sell" watches, shades etc in bulk you will probably get nicked for peddling conterfeit goods. Anyway the bulk you would require to make a decent amount is prohibitive.
Like Dave I alwasy bring back a few football shirts (Arsenal in my neck of the woods) and if I bring back 10 I can always sell them in the pub and maybe make £5 a shirt - but is it even worth the heavier bag for £50. Also its arre to find the "latest" models - certianly football shirts are almost always last seasons
