Really J1 does not deserve bastards like him but they are working there for looong time. f_ck! I always behave good and always get the same 1.8K per service. Ah! and the B/.500 certainly is for the VIP room ONLY if you ask for it. Otherwise you will be escorted to the standard one which is ok.

Additional info on J-one:
J-one / CP2 is renowned as the "Trainig school" for MPs. If you are aware, a loy of the girls are "bought" by agents in the provinces and brought to Bkk to work in MPs. A good majority of them are then trained in J-one / CP2 before being distributed to the other MPs. Maybe that's why there is a higher surcharge for farangs...
Pinga: Why don't drop by J-one next week and try to talk to one of the papasan to establish a contact..make a pact with him..telling him that if any bro from bkktonight come by and get a girl thru' him. the surcharge if any will be fixed at xxxx baht. I have done that before for my friends at plaza when I cannot bring them there myself...haha...putting my thai to good use for bros out there?

I've only gone to CP2 where the price for center stage girls is always 1760 Baht and have never been hassled. I was wondering if there is a big difference between CP1 and 2? If not why bother with CP1? How do the CP's compare to the other MP's?
Also, being relatively new to the MP scene, what is the best strategy when one gets a starfish? Is it possible to exchange?

Avoiding Starfishes. You may get some shit if the girl is a new recruit. You better be ready to cut your losses as soon as you detect the wrong attitude. IMHO There is no formula for picking the right girl at any MP. What we can do is try to minimize the risk of a potential starfish. Yeah, yeah difficult to say we could follow this or that but there are few facts in my humble opinion....
1. Many times the girls smile at you, right, but they are hungry for money and not for the farang. Thus, just TAKE YOUR TIME. Buy a beer and, while facing doubt in choosing a girl, just request the advise of the papasan.
2. A smiling and gorgeous girl in the fishbowl might be the right choice at first sight but sometimes these are the ones with the worst attitude. Therefore, check her out while at the cashier since this is the place where you will meet the girl after choosing her "number" form the fishbowl. IMHO this is the time to talk to them, invite them a mint, smile to them saying how pretty they look in that dress, and shit like that, some Thai command will help though....it won't take more than 3-5 minutes to realize the attitude of the TG. If you are not satisfied, just ask the papasan another recommendation despite on what you have chosen (fishbowl or sideline girl). He will give you another option and then that will be a sure nice BANG cos the second "choice" will be darn aware of why the first TG was sent back to the fishbowl empty hands, you see?
This based upon my personal experience. You may disagree.

Pinga! Howzit Bro?!?! Man is that great advise! And along this vein I am wondering if you might know if either Est. (J1 or CP2) would allow you to take the lady into buy her a drink before you proceed to your room?
I tried this at Darlings and they very generously complied. the beer we enjoyed together REALLY warmed us up to one another too.
As opposed to Barbara MP where they were very opposed and said essentially, "it's your dime dude waste it in the bar if you like but the clock is running." Ý
Discovering if the service will be there is indeed not easy on such short notice. Then again, I suppose you can get an sense of the models in MP lounges. Seems an unfair advantage to the fishbowl girls. Anyone think a "can we take em to the bar"- friendly-MP thread is in order? Ý Ý
