stickman wrote an opinion last year that he thought to get away from the sex tourism image MPs would more and more be off limits to farangs. I notice you've said before juliana was no-farang and riviera has also been mentioned as no-farang. Also Monika in the Mona Lisa has been mentioned as no-farang.
Many others have a farang surcharge which is a step toward discouraging farangs.
i'd be interested to know what the no-farang MPs are (as distinct from the surcharge ones) ie MPs where farangs cannot go at all. Apart from anything else it would save a useless trip.
Will Stickman turn out to be right on this in some years?

I think stickman has it backwards.
I suspect a lot of the farang-surcharging MPs (mostly on Ratchadapisek?) used to be no-farang places.
But they have relaxed a bit due to slow business.

As chateujade indicated, almost every MP on Ratchada used to be a non-farang place. They opened up for the major farang public three or four years ago. In the beginning there was no surcharge at all, since there were rarely any farangs that knew about those places. Only expats and guests of companies went there and were serviced equally to the Thais. I was first invited to a MP by a group of Chinese clients of my father in 1996, when I was 19 years old. Knowing only Patpong and Soi Cowboy by that time, I was impressed by the girls' quality that used to be much better than it is now. The rule was: Patpong hoodrats for the farangs and supermodels for Asian customers.
When more and more farangs showed up at the MPs, a non-farang policy was established. Thais, Chinese and Japanese customers didn't like the idea that "their" beautiful girls could be f_cked by any average mass tourist. As competition became tougher and the financial situation worse, the MPs were forced to open their gates for farangs. As most farangs didn't know about the price scheme for fishbowl, SL, models etc. and generally just asked "how much", the mamasans slowly started to charge higher rates varying from customer to customer. As far as I remember this development culminated at the end of 2000, when almost every MP established a general fixed farang surcharge. I've never tried Juliana. If farangs shouldn't be admitted there, it must be the last fortress of Asian protectionism.
