Back to BIWA: Visited this afternoon, a Thursday at about 5pm. Was qouted, by a friendly pappasan who finally emerged after a number of idle and indolent p'sans couldn't be bothered to rowse themselves from the sofas, a blanket price of 1800 baht for both sides of the fishbowl. The girls were okay in range, about 30 of them total, but the price, especially given the price range expected based on the prices listed on this site, was off-putting. Is this rise related to recent crackdowns? I spoke with p'san in Thai, and mine's passable enough, and he was quite polite; I also mentioned having gotten a price of 1000b in the past. No dice. I walked.

later that same night, checked out Chavalla 2 on Suk. Pappasan very friendly, prices now 1300 for 2 hours -- and he insisted that all the girls insisted on condoms for the karaoke part of the evening, because "our girls are very clean, you know?"
uh huh. there was a good selection, admittedly, forty girls at about 10pm. (they close at 1am, he said.) but i split...and ended up with the very game 21 yr old now asleep beside me, from "Playboy" barbeer in Asoke -- a very game bird, she, and amply able to provide everything I'd been looking for all afternoon, and at very competitive prices, esp considering morning has yet to dawn...
any way, the point is, things changes, mileage varies -- indeed, looking at some of the Chavalla girls in the window, I could see by the looks on their faces that some of them were willing to be less clean the management advises....

Spent several hours at Biwa last Friday... first time in ages. I have always liked the homey (decrepit) feel of this place, and the coffee shop has an excellent view of the fishbowl. The Thai food is decent, not great... sushi is also available... live music starts about 8pm. For some reason Biwa has always attracted a large number of "surveyors"... Thai (mostly) guys who wash in and just stare at the providers, sometimes over food or beer... sometimes just sitting. Like a library where browsing is accepted and there is no pressure to check anything out. Current opening time is 16:00 on weekdays and 14:00 Sat/Sun. Service pricing remains the same: 1,300/2 with caucasian surcharge of 500b. Valet parking for those who drive.
Bowl seating is sectioned like many MPs, with apprentices on the right and journeywomen on the left; no pricing differential, just the element of seniority and competence. The proven providers who have done their time have their own designated rooms, which they can decorate/furnish to their individual taste (which is universally awful... think rice farmer's daughter + disposable income + Chatuchat). I enjoy the eclectic interior decor these ladies come up with... they often add practical touches like more bedding (pillows, etc) which makes for a slightly less "professional" environment.
Ms Tuk (A5 - the "A" designator reflects her advanced status) is no superstar, but is blessed with a curvaceous figure (36B) and all the requisite skills to pleasure a man correctly. Nice lady, but not one I would seek out for a repeat session. Like most of her colleagues in the bowl, I would rate her at about 5.
Biwa is an old long-established house with a large base of repeat customers, so they are not really "welcoming" of walk-in farangs... there is a distinctly clubby feel to the papasan attitude at Biwa.. Unless you are looking for a taste of a "local" MP off the normal circuit there are plenty of better options in town.

The "place" is still there, but I just drove by it and got the feeling something is amiss... the outside of the building has been reconfigured (drive thru entry is gone) and I couldn't see a sign anywhere. Could be rennovations... I'll take a closer look and post next time I'm by there.
