I don't agree with that comment. J1 is very well know cos of the surcharge to farangs and the papasans are stupid bastards thinking they can rip you off as soon as you step in but, the girls and rooms are quite nice. A good option close to the BTS-Payathai.
I usually pay 1.8K/session and very few times was dissapointed. 2K at most. I don't think this place deserves to be banned.
IMHO What I think can be done is to ADVISE the brotherhood to not fall in the trap paying ridiculous amounts of money. If the bros are aware of this "rip off policy" they can easily manage the situation while facing it, give a smile and step off if necessary. Maybe others can feel comfortable with a girl or two and then "arrange" a suitable price for the "services".

On the other hand, I agree with BIGIN. Awareness is something we need to spread through the forum. Only by giving lots of info on different places the bros can make up their minds and hit the place of their choice. Been to J1 twice the last month since it's so close to where I am. ÝFirst time I went there, no hassles or touting. ÝI got a sideline for 2k baht.
The second time I went there, I chose another sideline girl and the a-hole papasan now charged me 2.5k baht! ÝNow I couldn't remember the papasan I dealt with the previous time and that time, I just laid out 2k baht to the cashier. ÝThis new papasan though, was ADAMANT about the price being 2.5k baht. ÝHe then had the gall to ask if I wanted to get a VIP room. ÝI was still not convinced of the price runaround and I said no. ÝThe cashier had a look of a deer caught in headlights and was oblivious. Ý
It was hot and I was sweating from the walk from the BTS so I said f_ck it and paid 2.5k. ÝGuess what, they gave me the VIP room. ÝI don't think the papasan realized the cashier never switched cards from the VIP to regular room. ÝEnd result, I got what was payed for. ÝA sideline for 2k baht + 500 baht for VIP room that I didn't want. ÝEverytime you goto J1, it's a crapshoot...
Oh btw, on my way out the door. ÝThe asshole papasan kept saying out loud "sang pan baht, sang pan baht" to ridicule me. Ýf_cking jackass...
