I have heard of the extra-charges for taxi drivers taking the client to some clubs. Are there any for going to Mirage, Emmanuele, Eden and New Cleopatra? What are your tricks to avod them for these particular places?

The "trick" is to always insist on them using the meter. If they don't go for that, then get out. There are usually plenty of taxis...
There are a few areas to watch out for, especially around Patpong, but usually if you just make sure they use the meter you are fine. Don't accept anything else unless you have no other option and are desperate to get somewhere...

I think KK was referring to something entirely different. Many taxi drivers get kickbacks from the MPs when they drop off customers. Usually this causes the price you pay for the service at the MP to be higher (you don't actually pay anything more directly to the driver).
I was told Poseidon didn't have a taxi surcharge, but I don't know about the ones mentioned.

You are right. There is no extra payment to the taxi but if the MP see the drop off, then usually 500 baht goes on the bill. So the trick is not to take a cab to the MP, but to a nearby hotel.

No, non of the places you mention will give the taxi drivers a kick back.
For Mirage, Ceasar and Emmenuell just ask the taxi to stop at Emerald hotel.

Yes, you are right. I was talking about 'kickbacks'. Last year when I was in Bali the taxi drivers used to eat in the same restaurants at my account  . I want to avoid it this time.

BTW as they said before, just ask to go to the Emerald or Plazzo Hotel, don't mention Massage! Soon no problem as the Underground is scheduled to open and has a stop only Meters away!
