LMAO....'son'......Well, Mr PC, as long as you have been to the US a few times you must be spot on.... 'dad'. I clearly said I was no authority on steaks but IMO Australian cuisine generally is way down the list by international standards. I sample Qantas airlines 1st Class to BKK regularly and the food, labelled as Australia's finest would be rejected by Bang Kwan's isolation wing. It is only my opinion, yours is not an approval I seek. If you rate Outback right up there....then...good luck to ya, dad.

That was a long time ago, almost 27 years! Why bring it up now. It was in Ivanhoe western New south wales, australia. I was 13. And learning about the joys of sex. I only ate the shank.

I would vote for the New York Steakhouse (JW Marriot, Suk 2). Pricey yes, count on THB 2,000 baht per person. Also, last week we (CG, Dew, CGFriend, SirTitus & GF, myself) had a steak buffet at the Tim-something steak place (African). Bill was (exclusing drinks, Thai food) around THB 1,200 baht. The quality was very good. Thick juicy meat. Won't debate the origin of the meat, though Even the baby chicken weights in more than half-a-kilo, according to the waitress. I asked her to show the mother....

WOW, a restauranteur that judges a countries food by the countries airlines in-flight meals. No wonder I think American, Swiss, Dutch, and several other countries food must suck. lol. Yes the restaurant in Soi 33 is Timbervaati (sic) and it must have improved at least 900% to have thick steaks. Ranks as one of my worst eating experiences anywhere, except for that rat and lizard up country once. The Outback did/does do a good steak, unfortunatley it seems they have either gone down hill recently as my last visit it was crap, but I also had a different steak, so maybe only one style is so good.

I like the Marriot steakhouse and Dukes. The Dusit Thani was good but not as good. Maximus........there's no 'n' in restaurateur....... (smug smilee) Went to a Jap steakhouse in Patpong and was very good. Why does no one want British beef on this thread? Will try Neil's Tavern as a couple on this and another thread seem to rate it.
