it's a shame yours turned out to be a sausage burger, but when I was there in May I know what I saw, & didn't look like any sausage i've ever seen, looked more like a home made beef paddy like mom use to make.

the burgers in Roadhouse in NEP is not bad for the price. HRC and Tony Romas would probably be decent since you pay so much.
I used to question people for ordering American food all of the time too. That is until I got a really bad heart burn from some spicy Thai food and wasted a precious night all by myself. Depending on your priority when on vacation, getting sick and wasting your vacation in bed alone is not fun.
I had a vacation buddy that got sick from eating a Nana Hotel burger in Sept. Be careful.

In Feb. '03 I had a burger in the Landmark hotel coffee shop that was delicious. I'd just been laid, though, so that probably had sth. to do w/ it?..

It has become kind of a ritual of mine to go to the coffe bar or restaurant in the hotel I am staying immediately after checking in with a log haul flight behind me, and have a hamburger with fries and salad and 2 beers. Most hotels do reasonably decent burgers.

The burgers at the Roadhouse are good and the other good place is at the stall at the entrance to NEP with the guy with the long ponytail. The Woodstock bar also has burgers, but nothing to write home about they do better with Mexican food there.
Despite the high price at Tony Roma's I got a burger that was still cold in the middle and still mooing.  I should have sent it back, but always afraid someone will spit in it or worse.
This week I tried a burger at Guilivers Tavern which was supposed to be one of their signature dishes. One of the worse I had anywhere, I was thinking of taking it back home and using the patty to resole a pair of workshoes.

My vote to the stall outside NEP! What is better at 02.00 AM, a great juicy hamburger and a scenery around you that can not compare with any upscale establishment selling burgers. And that for a mere 50 Bath. (At least that is what I seem to remember the price is..)

Many a time I have had a burger from the friendly Thai outside NEP. Whether they are any good I cannot say as usually I have a few bevvies by then ! Still they taste pretty good at 2am. You have to be careful as you eat them though as a ladyboy might grab your sausage !
