Pomodoro in Emporium...cheaper than all the other Pomodoros around Lower Sukhumvit with equal and sometimes better quality. It also knocks spots off a few more 'trendy' Italian restaurants as well.
It may not be the best but as a bog-standard eating place it is my favourite for Italian & has been for a few years!
Too be honest there are too many restaurants of all types to choose from in Bkk.

How does one get to the Riverside condo complex?

Nearest BTS ?

Asking a taxi driver to take one to the Riverside condo complex, will result in a very blank expression (from the taxi driver)

I think the restaurant's called Khrua Khun Gung. I was there years ago and have been meaning to go back, but have not gotten around to do so. The food was very good and the outdoor atmosphere nice. Don't remember the prices.

It's located at SV City Rama III Rd., Bangpongpang, Yannawa - Tel. 0-2682-6893

Charcoal Grey is my favourite one of Bangkok`s finest resturants but unfortunally the worst location. It`s in the alley just before duty free shop on ploenchit road when you are comming from direction sukhumvit road. (maby the worst possible directions ever? )
Does anyone know if they are still around? I have a buisniss card from the place that say they been around since 1987 ! With that location ? mabye not so bad after all and nice place both good food and nice place to sit and hang around. cosy and nice staff.

**** Prices are very reasonable.. my g/f and I usually get out of there for under B750 which includes one large beer Singha, a soft drink for her and at least three items..

as noted, it is nice out there.. during the winter, you might even consider wearing a long sleeve shirt?? or light jacket.. as if there is a breeze it can get cool

another nice place to eat that is different is down on soi 24, in the small mall in the Hotel Davis.. small place with good light dishes.. can't remember the name, but as you go in the mall it is on the right..

if you like somtom, noodle dishes, etc.. very nice

almost hate to tell people about it as it is small and busy already.. so don't go there when I go there.. mostly Thai customers

Best Thai food in the city, in my opinion, is at Love Scene, Suk 23, right around the corner from Soi Cowboy, up the street a bit from 7-11. They are open "25 hours a day." You have to look for it. No real signage. You can always ask someone.

Somboon, as I recall, is right outside the Huaykwang underground station. You come up the northwestern escalator, and hang a right as you leave the station, and it is right there. Pricing is extremely reasonable, quality is superb, but I would not advise hitting on the waitstaff.

The problem with Love Scene is because of their location their prices are high. They are expecting the tourist walking hand and hand with the catch of the night to come in. The new date typically orders more than the pair can eat and bill comes in quite steep. Of course if you spending vacation money its ok and since most of the clientele are rent a dates from SC its OK.

A new place looking to cash in on the Nana late-night crowd is a buffet at the new Sofitel on Soi 6. They are open 24 hours. I have not tried it, but I am sure it will beat the Nana Hotel fare with their snob service.

Everyone loves Somboon,, sorry I have to dissagree,, took all my Aus and Thai family there especially because my Father in laws name is Somboon,, food was ok, not great,, sertvice was good, the free glass with Somboons name on it was appreciated, yes some fine looking waitresses there BUT a far better seafood place is only a few kilometeres away,,,,,,
Sukumvit soi 24, Seafood Market and Restaurant,, "If it swims we have it".
I have dined here on at least a dozen occasions and been extremely happy with the food.

P.S Yes I get 5 billion baht per customer I refer.

If you like seafood and you're in the city: Somboon (I went to their Surawong branch) is #1, worth a detour. Light and welcoming place, good prices, fresh and simply delicious food.

I have to say that I agree. Compared to other good Thai restaurants in the city, Love Scene is a bit pricey. Compared to what you would pay in the US, however, they are still quite reasonable, and again, I find the quality of the food quite good.

I suppose that it all comes down to your frame of reference. If you are an expat, and accustomed to paying Thai prices and receiving good value, then it may not be the best choice. If you are simply looking for good solid flavorful chow in the middle of the night, particularly if you are fueling up a lady pulled from SC or NEP....then it scratches that itch.

Last night, for example....I think that my close personal associate had two or three gin and tonics.....I had three or four tonic waters on ice.....I bought the manager a whiskey.....we had an order of four oysters with trimmings......and an order of mu manao.....our bill came to 800 baht and change. Not the cheapest, but not extortionate, either. Good quality, good location, good management and service, and sometimes the clientele can be very entertaining.
