arrived in Bangkok and had a couple of hours to wait before my next flight.
was flying to KL and after I arrived I had an wait of 12 hours before my final flight to London.
no way was I going to sit in the Terminal for 12 hours so I had booked a room at the Airport Hotel.
caught the shuttle bus to the Hotel and encountered a problem,i only had Baht on me and I had presumed I could exchange it for Ringgit at the Hotel........wrong.
they did not deal with Baht and thereforei could not pay for my room.
i had to wait for the shuttle bus and go back to the Terminal,look for an Exchange Booth and then wait for the shuttle bus again and go back to the Hotel......nightmare.
the plan was to stay awake alnight so that by the time I boarded the Plane for the 13 hour flight I would have been awake for around 24 hours and be tired and would be able to get a good sleep.
but what was I to do during the night?
decided to go for a walk and discovered a little Bar with 2 Asian men sitting in the corner and a rather attractive Girl serving.
ordered a Beer and sunk it quickly and immediately another one was placed in front of me and as I went to pay I was informed there was a special promotion going on during the World Cup.
2 for the price of 1 up until Midnight and a smile crossed my face as I counted my money and worked out how many I could have.

then I had a thought and remembered my first ever day in Thailand and looked for the Telephone Directory.
looked for a certain section and was happy when I found it....ESCORT SERVICES.
thought I might as well spend my last hours with a bit of company.
rang one up and had a chat with a Guy and he said he had to round up a Girl and travel from KL and would be around an hour.

i was really craving for a cigarette and I was getting very tetchy as we flew over Europe and I was counting the Minutes until I could stuff 20 of the things in my mouth at once and just inhale all that Nicotine.
f_ck,f_ck AND TRIPLE f_ck........as we crossed the Channel the Pilot announced there was a problem at Heathrow and we would be in a queue and circling above the Home Counties for a while.
it seemed an eternity before we finally landed and I got off that Plane and found somewhere to have that p
passed through the Customs Channel and had a good laugh when I saw that the annoying Woman had been stopped and her bags opened and her stuff strewn all over the counter.
i have never been stopped by Customs when returning from SEA previously and this time was no exception.
but I was amazed at the amount of Custom Officers were stopping people and thought it might be because the Flight had originated from a Muslim Country.
all the 'white' people were walking straight through and it seemed all the people stopped were of SEA origin.
finally was in the Arrivals Hall and spotted my friend who was picking me up and we were soon in his car and off on the hours journey back to my house.
the end of my 5th trip and definately the most thought provoking.
the good times,the bad times,the drunken nights,my Birthday outing,getting assaulted and visiting the Hospital and off course the falling out and making up with Nok.
i met some good Girls,but also some who were a pain in the arse,but I wouldn't swap the experience for anything.
i had had a wonderful time.

The airplane ride sounded awful. I feel your pain!
On my last flight out of BKK to Narita I had a little girl sitting next to me trying to curl up and sleep on her seat. She kept kicking me with her feet and her father could have cared less. Not to mention she had to get up at least 6 times throughout the flight to go to the bathroom and I was sitting in the aisle, which meant I had to get up every time to let them out. I was also getting bumped in the shoulder every time someone passed by on the other side of me.
I was completely hung over and had almost no sleep the entire vacation and nobody would let me be. Also, to add to my torture, I was dealing with a knee swelled up to the size of a balloon. I popped something in my knee doing doggie-style on the last night in BKK (I think my body just gave out on me at the very end- with all the alcohol, heat, girls, and no sleep). To cap it all off, a little case of Montezuma's revenge, mixed with a fair amount of depression over a certain girl, thinking I was never to return to the LOS. It was the worst flight of my life.
However, in response to your final conclusion - it says it all... the good and the bad sometimes make the memories all that much better. It sounded like a great trip!

how long is the flight from Bangkok to Narita? and then from Narita to the States?
had to laugh at your misfortune with the doggie-style position.
next time just lay back and let her do all the work and blame your lack of effort on having a bad kneedue to over exercise.
i know of many people who have had a nightmare flight and in the past I have been lucky,but this time I just had those annoying people around me.
what is wrong with them?,when I get on a Plane all I want is to sleep and maybe watch a Film.

The flight from Bkk to Narita was 5 1/2 hours. Not that long but leaving paradise made it hard. The flight from Narita to DC was around 12 hours. I bought a portable DVD player for my next trip, hoping it will help pass the time. It will give me about 7 hours of playing time (the movies on the plane aren't that great in my opinion). I'm making my way back next month, this time going through Korea, which will be a 14 1/2 hour flight 
I actually had to get surgery on my knee after that incident because it kept flaring up every other week. Now I'm good to go, exercising regularly and eating healthy in preparation for future doggie-styles 
Maybe next time my LT can assume the position and I'll stand next to the bed (which will be easier on the knee). It was just kind of ironic how it happened on the last night, just hours before I left for the airport. I was walking through the airport like a zombie.
