Just finished a 5 day stay at Thara Patong Resort after reading these posts by Honolulu Jimmy. Although Jimmy recommended the premier rooms with poolside access, being such a cheap bastard, I booked the regular room. Well, I should have listened to Jimmy.
Upgraded to the premier and it was fantastic. Slide open the door and sink right in, with a mermaid nestled in my lap, of course. Had a nice swim, pumped some iron in the exercise room, it was a very pleasant stay.
Thanks Jimmy, for your excellent recommendation.

Worth the Baht....YES, but be mindeful that the prices do go up for HIGH season etc...

Pool rules call for 'appropriate swimming attire', which I interpreted as trunks instead of 'rain coats', so used pool just as a warm up, better things happened later.
Initially, bed in 'deluxe' section was so noisy and squeeky, must have sounded like a war zone. Entire wing was probably quite relieved when she popped my cork. Asked about the 'stay 3 nights, get one free' when upgrading to premier, since I didn't want to lose out. Wanted to make sure they would still knock off one night in deluxe but, to my suprise, they applied the free night to the premier rate instead. They certainly know how to make a loyal customer. If I ever go to Phuket again, I will only stay at this resort. Very happy to have the extra baht in my pocket.

you can get a pool side 2 bedroom apt with liv/kit that is simply deluxe...sh_te..I pay 3520 for the smallest poolside low season....Slip into the pool for a late night skinny/boom session...very romantic and great place to get into the mood for Boom Boom Boom! Beautiful property!
Spent two days with Dew in a poolside Deluxe at the Thara Patong - about 3200/night, worth every penny. It was not a 1BR or 2BR, but just larger hotel room (maybe some 1BR or 2BR units are available). You walk out of your room and in one step, you are in the pool. You can buy your own drinks and have them poolside without buying them from the overpriced bar - two pitchers of homemade fruity drinks for us. Breakfast is top notch, room furnishings are new and modern. No complaints.

The premium on this room is because the terrace has a private entrance to the pool. Never seen anything like it before. Other rooms that are "near" the pool are half this price.
Guys in the next room said they were NOT charged a joiner fee, and had different girls every night. The guard never hassled Dew for her ID because she hid her tattoo when she went out with me at night. 
Honolulu Jimmy - rest his soul  - was absolutely right with this recommendation. It is a great place to take one of your regulars. I'll be back with Dew if I marry her, otherwise, I'll bring a new one.

Looks like I lucked out big time then.
For an almost identical list of comforts you describe (minus doing the dew), I spent the princely sum of 1,000 b per night at Baan Boa Resort, smack on Patong Beach. Plus this place is about as new as it gets.
