Visted Tiger last night after many months absence. Great time. Good music and lots of dancing with my young lassie. Seemed to be a good supply of single ladies on hand and well as young chaps looking to hook up.
The open air seafood restaurants outback are a good place to fuel up before the disco. We go to the one managed by Khun Sor and bring our own wine.

IMHO Tiger, Star world and Banana sucks, Taipan is hot and after 2am me and my friends hit some hardcore party scenery at Safari until 6-7am..
Take 1-2 girls from a bar, add a few at Taipan, grab a tuktuk to Safari, buy a bottle of whisky or two... wow..!!

Safari's mainly a outdoor disco/bar, theres a indoor disco there to but its a no no.. when crowded, I think it house'es about 3-400p.
Close around 6 but sometimes the cops walks in and close it earlier (there still a bar outside to rumble..)
Safari can be very pumping, alot of crazy falangs and TG that dont go to bed early...
If u really like the party scene, go to Phi Phi isl. for a few days (only crowded during high seasong).

Sounds great JV, I will probably not venture to Safari on a daily basis (late night drinking...not good for boom-boom action !), OK that it still is a late night alternative for some serious partying!!
Make me sure miss those old days down there when it always was an 24-hour alternative for crazed party -people........aaaaahhhhh........

Safari is 1km from Bangla/patong on the right side at the first hill (near the Elephant-track-tour operator there) on the way to Kata/karon beach.
So its not far away just between Patong an Le Meredien's beach.

Comment on Tiger.... awesome tunes... sound system that can be felt on the Richter Scale. Tons of people downstaairs. I prefer the balcony less crowded and a very uncrowded bar up there.
Watched a drunk Farang try to walk on the bar in Soi Tiger underneath disco... Thai bartender tries to keep him off but he gets up anyway and falls off.. Should have seen the look on his face lying on his back behind the bar after smashing a bottle of gin onto the floor.
seemed to stay open past 2:00am or was I really that drunk?
Thai Pan was dead when I was there... maybe too early?
no FL or anything else for that matter.
Star World didnt have any sound coming out of it so skipped it.
Safari.... doesnt get hopping till after 2 according to BG but got really hammered there one night. BG gets good deal on Tuk Tuk out there 100 B then they screw you 150B on the way back cuz they know you need a ride. Alcohol was expensive compared to Bangla but the little store across the street is always open with better pricing. So I suppose you could get your drink on then walk in and have a water or something?
Safari was good to check out on reccomendation of TG I was with. Outdoor pond, waterfall and interesting palm tree or ficus or whatever that thing is.... mix was better at Tiger though. Safari had too much rap in it and repeated too much.
