If your there to "play", both are a bit out of the way and the Tuk Tuk ride there late at night will be both expensive and sickening! If your there for the scenery fine and the Orchid is not far from fun!

I should have specified earlier:
I'm there for a bit of beach relaxation, and a bit of 'fun'. I definitely want a view of the water, as for me there's no point in a beach vacation if I can't see the beach from my window. I tend to like to be a little bit away from the bustle, but not in the boonies. Someplace girls would like is a plus.
I'm also taking the agf to Phi Phi in october and will probably pass through Phuket on the way (flight schedules are better than going through Krabi). So I was thinking of scouting for that as well (girl friendly girls might be a plus then, not sure yet).

If you got the bucks Novotel at the far end of Patong has great Beach Views and one of the best Sunset views in the business! It is also only 5 minutes away by car from Soi Bangala!
