We are going to try a week or so during low season - early June this year. Will be a with a small group of people.
Last time stayed at the Patong Bay Garden Resort. Was ok, but not real girl friendly depending on the guard that night.
I've also stayed at the Toy Residence on the hill. Inexpensive and very basic. More like an apartment. need a motorbike I suppose.
Would like to put everyone fairly close to Bangla and keep it around 2000 baht a night or less. this time of year gives us a ton of choices I guess. If anyone has ideas would like to hear them.
What about DSL in room Wired/Wireless?

Try the C & N Resort on the Hill overlooking Patong, quiet, very GF, nice rooms with a Deluxe costing 1,800 with Breakfast. Short trip by Cyclo or there free shuttle to Bangla.
Not sure if they have WiFi yet, last time I stayed they where talking about putting it in! I'm there next week, so I will give you a better picture after that!

Will be heading for patong about 8 may,and have previously stayed at the orchard guest house, at the far end of Soi Sansabai, a family run buisness and very nice too, but you have to use the pool around the corner a very short walk not really a problem, except a mate of mine stayed there a month or two ago and said there is building work ongoing which is too much of a racket for peaceful afternoon at the pool.
Does anyone know if this is still the case, else I shall book another hotel, heres hopeing.

Stayed nearly a week in C & N Resort, No WiFi in fact no Internet Access on site unless you use something like IPass. When asking for a Business Centre there comment was "you no work, you go play water"!
That said, it is a very good Hotel, Deluxe Rooms at 1,500 are fine, no Bath but huge Bed, Balcony, cheap Mini Bar etc. Another 300 Baht gets you a slightly bigger room with Bath higher up. Bath is interesting as it has window into main room, if your TG wants to give you a show, fun place to look at!
Its fun to look down at the Balconies below, often something interesting going on or coming off!!! Breakfast is very good although finishes too early at 10am! Pool very nice but not private enough (next to Restaurant) for any fun stuff in pool.
Very Guest Friendly, has parking for Cars and Bikes plus quiet location less than 5 minutes from Bangla! Staff very helpful, one even helped me wash my Bike!!! Highly recommended except for lack of Internet Access!

Another option is next to The CNN Resort; the Leelawadee Boutique Hotel. Direct on the corner before the CNN. Good hotel, small with 37 rooms, but cozy. Good sized rooms with all normal aminities. Breakfast nothing special but decent. Prices at present around 1500 for pool view room. And they have wifi.. (Actually you can pick most times from 3 unsecured other networks like the one from Duangjit Resort)

Stayed at the Pacific Club in Feb. Really nice hotel, decent sized rooms with excellent decor, nice pool area on the roof and the restaurant was the nicest in Karon. Free wifi throughout too, and for the money they charge, an absolute bargain. Can't comment on whether its guest friendly as I checked in with one of my regulars but often when I was getting in from a night out there was nobody at reception so you could have breezed through with an army of BGs.
On the downside there's building work going on in front of the hotel that obscures the sea view from all but the top 2 floors although the rooms are well soundproofed so noise wasn't a problem. The other main downside is Karon. Nice beach but little else, a few crappy bars and mediocre restaurants and not a single decent pool table. 200-250 baht each way gets you a taxi into the heart of Patong though.

Hi,
I used to live in Nai Harn (small beach in Phuket) for just about a year.
I would suggest renting a car (900 baht a day for a decent one) and staying away from patong.
Its much more relaxing and cheaper and Kata and kata noi are much better beaches than Patong.
You can always head into Patong for some girlie fun and restaurants.
By the way, the Irish restaurant in Patong Molly Magee's (sp?) is expensive but well worth it.

I agree, nice place to kick back & relax. Pretty good coffee too. But the bartender made a fairly horrible Bloody Mary.
