As someone who has been personally affected by acts of terrorism and violence, I take a strong exception to anyone who makes light of the current worldwide situation.
This is not a joking matter for anyone... So if you can't give good honest and accurate advise then keep you mouth shut. Dont even whisper.. ok.

Terror Report...juust got back 10 days ago and saw the usual number of terrorists. That be huge numbers of BG sans Falang. sh_te, they were like Mosquitos during Songkran. I thought that Nov and Dec 2001 were bad but there seemed to be more girls and less Falang for the last 3 or 4 Songkran in Patong. Making a short visit to Suk area of BKK I snagged a hottie back to the room so fast there is no report.
I am looking forward to the Low season first LS visit will be in June.....I know many Darlikngs were think of packing back up country for the low season as the prospect are nill. I would guess the real Islamo thugs in the south are going to scare off many punters!

OK, so these 'legitimate' terrorist warnings are to be taken as important advice to all brothers, correct?
So what, exactly, are we supposed to do? Avoid southern Thailand or just the tiny pocket where the trouble is taking place?
Should we avoid places 'nearby', such as Trang, Krabu and Phuket? What about the guys who live here? Are we supposed to pack up and go home?
Where we these "voices of wisdom" in the weeks leading up to Bali in 2002?
I suggest that if people are so sensitive to terrorist activities then they should try looking at a map first.

WHipser - we're supposed to apply common sense, not moo and bleah like sheep (or cows). In my case, I didn't let various terrorist warnings discourage me from coming to LOS - though me and my travel companions decided to forego a long stay at NEP, in favor of Soi Cowboy.
Since NEP is a major target, I figured keeping a visit short, and going to less frequented (not to mention, less tactically rich) locations is good trade-off.
Turns out it was a great tradeoff, since we ended up having WAY more fun at SC, than we ever could have had at NEP. So, it all worked out fine.
In the case of the present crap, *I* would sinply stay out of the South, including Phuket. As long as there are plenty of alternatives, I see no reason to let such things worry me.

Thanks Hzink - so you can credit your good time at Soi Cowboy to that lovely bunch of terrorists, whoever they are. See, they're not so bad after all, huh?
I feel that rather than having these totally pointless "warnings" about terrorist activities in Thailand it would be far more beneficial to warn the brothers about the potential risks of contracting AIDS, skin cancer or cirrhosis of the liver - far more serious and about 10,000 times more likely than being the victim of an act of terrorism, especially in Thailand.
